I know it's probably hard to know but let's speculate, does anybody have any idea if 4.05s or under will still be around in say... a month or maybe two, when I can afford one?

There's plenty of systems under 4.05 out there the cheapest ones will go first but you can always buy the more expensive bundles like FF15 from GameStop.

If is sealed and never opened before, sure is low fw < 4.05. We are talking about a 2013-2014 model

What does the serial number start with?
I'm also hunting for an older pro with a manufacture date of January 2017 or earlier.
The lowest I came across is MC96740XXXX, but the seller won't open the box to check the date.
I have seen them as high as MC96994XXXX and the newest pros (CUH-7115B) seem to all start with MD9XXXXXXXX.
Maybe with enough feedback this can get worked out.

I also wanted to add that someone was selling a supposed launch ps4 pro empty box.
The serial on it was MC96706XXXX.

the MC967 couldn't have been release, release was MC95, since a friend has MC95 but he bought before summer 2017, he doesn't know what fw he had but believes it was 3.7, does anyone have anything older than MC95?

just bought a new ps4 pro from target, had the horizon coming 2017 and 2016 copyright on the box, serial was MC9682... looked like an old box, so box doesnt matter model was CUH-7015B B01X, a coworker bought a release date version and has same model number without b01x
It came with 4.55

Bought another pro, the firmware was 4.07, the serial was MC9655XXXX
apparently from other people messages here and in other forums ps4 pro with older FW need to start with MC95 or MC960
will probably get another one this weekend, a mc95

With the release of a kernel exploit for 4.05 I'm sure a lot of people will start looking where to buy a ps4/ps4 pro/ps4 slim within the correct firmware range. I think it would be a good idea to have a thread to share the firmware you got with your ps4, when and where do you buy it and also if it was a regular/slim or pro version. I tried looking for some info but only found a thread in wololo for firmware 1.76.
