With 3.0.0 you'll get homebrew in February and custom firmware sometime in the future. So I'd say it's ok.
If you want custom firmware as soon as possible keep searching for a 1.0.0.

Finding 2.3.0 now is still great. In MediaMarkt here the lowest were Mario Odyssey bundles (3.0.1 most probably).
