Will I find the games I downloaded in cfw in there as well?? Cause I can't boot into atmosphere at all x.x.
Booting CFW doesn't change the console you're booting into. Its just a mode like OFW. Or maybe a better analogy is its like Safe Mode on your computer. You're still booting the same computer with the same files and programs, just with different functions available.

Yeah I know of this, I just wanted to make sure if the game will display in the settings. Thank you.

Hello, how much should a professional installation of the HWFLY modchip cost as a service? Here in Greece they charge 100-120 euros just for the installation, isn't that a lot for a job that takes less than an hour? I don't want to get ripped off. How much did you guys pay?

100 is pretty common for HWFLY install.

It's work done by a specialist, so I guess you have to pay for that. Plumbers aren't cheap either. Neither are doctors. I had to pay once for a consultation with one because my medicare card was expired. He examined me for maybe 10 minutes. And later I got the bill for around $300. :wtf: I got reimbursed later when I got my new medicare card, but it made me see those guys don't work for nothing.

Hi everyione!! I recently updated to 15.0.1. I got the latest patches, everything works as it should except the N64 app. It worked great before, now, I launch it and not even the Nintendo Switch spinning icon shows, it sends to an error. I use CaVE database and I am sure the patches are the latest, every other thing works well. The only thing I notices, is that the Atmosphere did not have a "contents" folder so I made one manually and put my couple of things I use. Did the location of those files changed with the latest atmos update? Or what should I do to play again the N64 app.

(Already tried deleting the save data, the custom rom folder, but the same result.) Thank you!!

May I please get some assistance?

Using a hacked switch.

Tried to enter the switch settings menu (to change brightness) and the switch softlocked to the menu-loading screen. I could still hold power to get the power menu, but the main screen was still softlocked to the white menu loading screen.

Tried to put it into sleep mode, that just softlocked it more, so I held power and it turned off.

Turned it on again, back to normal switch loading without a hack.

I (foolishly) tried to load the game I was playing, Tactics Ogre.

It was corrupt.

Put the dongle back in, hit power + volume up...nothing. No logo or startup or anything. Just a black screen.

Hitting power normally boots up the switch without the hack.

So I reinject the Hekate payload.

Ok, got the hack back.

However...when I try to load up Tactics Ogre, I get "corrupt data" again.

Is there a way to repair the game?

EDIT -- Deleting the game from the switch and re-uploading it via MTP seems to have solved the problem, miraculously.

That I can't really help you with, just that there are posts of people chip not properly glitching when they used newer chip than v4

Is it possible to find out if the OLED has Toshiba Emmc or not without opening it?

There are also posts that glitch problems always(!) go down to bad connection/ soldering or wiring. So what is true?

You can see in Hekate, but it has to be hacked first of course so you still have to open it.

it’s actually OK without /atmosphere/contents folder, especially when troubleshootin. It means you don’t have any sys-modules, cheats or layerdfs to complicate things. :-)

I just grabbed N64 base and installed on 15.0.1|1.4.1 with no issues.

IIRC (from working with one of the other NSO titles and Cave) you need a specific patch level. I’m going to try Cave w/ latest and see if I can break N64.

e: hmmm. Cave specifical calls for latest patch level.

I am confused on the DNS MITM.

On rentry guide i am seeing this

127.0.0.1 *nintendo.*
127.0.0.1 *nintendo-europe.com
127.0.0.1 *nintendoswitch.*
95.216.149.205 *conntest.nintendowifi.net
95.216.149.205 *ctest.cdn.nintendo.net

I am seeing this one widely used as well as on the github.

127.0.0.1 receive-%.dg.srv.nintendo.net receive-%.er.srv.nintendo.net

Which is better? Can I use both?

I was unsure which to use so I just put both in as of right now.

Hello,

Going to switch to Atmosphere (from SX OS). I'll remove everything from my SD card and start with a fresh empty fat32 SD card. Can someone confirm the steps as well as the questions I have (?)
  • Extract atmosphere at the root of SD card (this gives an atmosphere folder, switch folder and hbmenu.nro)
  • Put fusee.bin at the root (?) of the SD card
  • Extract hekate at the root of the SD card (this gives a bootloader folder and hekate_ctcaer_6.0.1.bin)
  • Extract the sigpatches to the root of the SD card (this do not create a folder as these are in atmosphere and bootloader folder)
  • Download DBI and extract it at the root of the SD card (?)
  • Download the 15.0.1 update and put it at the root of the SD card (?)
  • At this point the root of the SD card should be an horrible mess exactly like this (because I do not know where things should go) :
    • /atmosphere
    • /switch
    • /bootloader
    • fusee.bin
    • hbmenu.nro
    • hekate_ctcaer_6.0.1.bin
    • dbi.config
    • DBI.nro
    • A f***ing huge list of .nca files coming from the update extracted at the root of SD card
Now I have a SX pro dongle and I want to boot to hekate to create an emunand
  • Rename hekate_ctcaer_6.0.1.bin to payload.bin (?)
  • Boot with dongle + vol, it should boot into hekate (?)
  • I want a partition based emunand on the SD card so "Create emuMMC" and "SD partition" then slide the slider for "emuMMC (raw)" to 29Go and create the emunand
  • Then to start Atmosphere, go to "launch" in the main menu of hekate and select "CFW (EMUMMC)" sometimes seen in guides as "Atmosphere (emuMMC)".
Now that I am in atmosphere, I go to the album, start daybreak and start the update by selecting the root folder where I extracted the update files. About backups, I put my backups on a USB stick that I plug in the dock, put the switch in the dock and ask DBI to install games that are located in the USB stick.

I heard that there is also a sept folder but I did not manage to find it in the atmosphere repo on github... maybe I'm too dumb to find it...
Same for Hekate, I saw guides with an hekate_ipl.ini file in the root folder... can't find it, don't even know if this is necessary
I already have a nand backup from an older version of hekate done a long time ago

Thanks

Thanks my fellow Binkinator. Well, here is what I did:

Since 2018 that I have my switch, there has been a couple of games that gave this problem, but they where "meh" games so I never put attention to it. Now, it happened with the N64 and oh man, do I use that app!!! So now I was decided to look for an answer. So, apparently it has to do with the tickets. Here is what I did:

I booted up the Switc on Fusee primary. I used DumpNX tool and made a dump of the app and the update, ticketless (this is very important) Now, I switched back to hekate and instaled on top of the already instaled app, the new ticketless NSPs. And there you go. It booted like it always has.

I hope this helps anybody that may encounter this trouble, beacause it is seldom, but happens.

Thank you Binkinator.

This is one way. DBI/MTP -> PC works really well too And will save you a copying step.
I heard that there is also a sept folder but I did not manage to find it in the atmosphere repo on github... maybe I'm too dumb to find it...
old way of doing. /sept is dead.
Same for Hekate, I saw guides with an hekate_ipl.ini file in the root folder... can't find it, don't even know if this is necessary
This Sets up you “boot menu” and settings. There is a working example in the link below.

+1000 always have backups!
Here is a set-by-step walkthrough if you want to check your work.

You can combine both with no harm done. The reentry guide covers both the ones in the last example with their first line.

A * is a wild card that matches anything so receive-%.dg.srv.nintendo.net is covered by *nintendo.*

basically the first version blocks every host with the word nintendo in the name BUT it allows the conntest and ctest hosts to connect so your switch will be able to test true if it‘s online.

the last version just blocks specific Nintendo telemetry collectors (these are the severs that will get you banned!) and let’s everything else go through.

Hey thanks for all the confirmation/clarifications. A few more here :)

- +1 if you use SX Gear.zip
Not sure where to find this SX Gear.zip ? Not even sure you can share the information here. But I have all the required files to boot on the last version of SX OS so I guess I have the required files ? I have seen that there is a black and a red dongle, I have the black one.
- In the past I used ChoiDujourNX to update my emuNAND, is it totally replaced by daybreak ?
- I do not have a backup for the keys (lockpick_RCM). I'm not doing fancy things, do I need them to have a complete backup of my nand ?
- Can I store DBI.nro and dbi.config in another folder such as /switch where there are already other nro (daybreak and reboot to payload that seems to come from atmosphere)
- Or can I create a folder /homebrew and put all .nro inside (including daybreak and reboot to payload) ?
- Can I change the place of hbmenu.nro from the root to either /switch or the folder I want to create /homebrew ?
- In a more general way, what folders are scanned to find homebrew/.nro ?
- about hekate_ipl.ini, what would happen if I do not create the file ? The hekate menu will be empty or is it created automatically at some point ?
- The partition if I want a partition emunand can go up to 29Go but can also be increased and videos I have seen shows strange information once over 29Go (like 2x4 or 2x5), what does it mean and what is the point of increasing more than 29 Go ?
- I will partition the SD card to have a place for emunand (the 29Go). I suppose the updates are installed on this partition as well. What will happen if the next update makes the size of nand + update bigger than 29Go ? Or maybe the update is not installed on the nand partition ?
- Is the exFAT driver on the switch as unstable as it used to be (I never had issues before I have to admit but I've seen many post about data corruption) ?
- I saw that when using MTP there is no issue about the size of the .nsp file even if the SD is in FAT. If I use a NON-fat usb stick and a FAT SD card, do I need to split my .nsp games in 4Go files ?
- In the past (years ago) there was a lot of discussion about which homebrew was the best to install games. Is there in the end a definitive answer to this regarding stability (which is the only point i'm interested in) or are they now all mature enough to have quite the same stability (bugs/errors/...) ?
- How do I uninstall a game if I do not have enough space in the SD card ? Can I remove it directly from the switch "data management" system like I would do for any downloaded game from switch eshop (https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Support/...-or-Delete-Downloadable-Software-1508500.html) a or should I use DBI/a specific tool to uninstall .nsp ?
