This is my situation. I already understand we r not suppose to update to 7.0 if wanted to continue to use cfw.
Before I clear my wifi setting, I did receive notifications to prompt to update firmware. Of course I ignore it & clear my wifi setting.
I’m in offline mode. Yeah I’m safe, but that’s not the case.
Whenever a game started, there always a notification that will prompt to update. I accidentally click on that. What happen is it go thru a restart and after that I cannot boot to sxos.
In original boot, it prompt me again to update 7.0 to use the microSD card. I believe I didn’t go thru a full update, but a half update also don’t allow me to boot cfw.

microSD update doesn't equal firmware update.

If you accidentally clicked update, check what firmware version you are running, if it's 7.0 then wait or restore your backup

Right now the system is 7.0. How come it still able to update even I'm offline. weird.
The MircoSD card situation is to update so that I can use the MircoSD card.

Most likely the update was downloaded automatically when you online at some point before before, just isn't installed yet.
This is why eventho setting an emunand might be safe to avoid ban, chances of accidentally update your sys nand will be higher if you still use your sys nand online.

Most likely this is my case. The update is automatically download & happen to initate by my fat finger. Lol.
Anyway, should I go online & complete the update 7.0 for my microSD card?

Since the fuse will most likely been burned, i see no point to hold back. I would just complete the update for exfat support.
But make a habit of doing nand backup each time you update your firmware, this way you have a variety of fw version to choose from if you decide to downgrade anytime in the future.

I notice about burned fuse or something about number of burnt fuse. I’m quite new about this. Can brief me about this fuse term?

What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted

Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Speak and say as his first system.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
