They won't question whose the original, they'll just ban both. At the very least, they can just ban the certificate so that way neither of you can go online with that header anymore. Its not rocket science to realize that there is no way both you and your friend are using the same header to go online at exactly the same time without extracting the header. The cartridge has to be duplicated in some way which Nintendo recognizes as a ToS violation hack.
Yea but doing this could affect ppl who rent games

So, in the change log it states user dumped headers are now implemented. This implies they weren't before. I had assumed the whole XCI file was mounted and used as a cart image to the system, but now that I know SXOS 1.0 didn't use user certs even if your dump had one, I question exactly how they are loading the XCI files now.

that isnt true, it just means that you can dump the headers for the games that you physically own, and then use those online and you " should be fine" this wouldnt be important unless you wanted to go online or update.

Nintendo bears no responsibility on that. Used games are managed by the buyer and seller. If the seller doesn't check whether the game fully functions before accepting it or if you don't check whether the game fully functions before buying it, thats on your head not Nintendo's.

If you dumped your header, that means you have hacked your console to the point that you can do this. That's strike one. Strike 2 is giving it to your friend which is not just a violation of the ToS but also illegal. If you believe that Nintendo won't ban you for this, then by all means do this and report back when you have been inevitably banned. We don't decide the bans, Nintendo does.

Always have, always will be. Its just that now they seem to be on top of their game. We were lucky they were lax before but we can no longer afford that luxury.

the point is how do they know the header is dumped, if its coming from two different locations at 2 different times, there are ways of explaining that, i.e. renting

No I get what he’s saying. They just ban the cert in general so the ppl who rent games will be fked too
He’s basically saying Nintendo doesn’t give a sht
As long as it’s a dumped header someone is gunna be fked over so the pirate will be fked

Sorry, I assumed you said they were being used simultaneously. As long the headers never go online at the same time, then you should theoretically be safe. Although it might be weird if the header is online one moment, goes offline, only to come back the next minute in a location on the other side of the globe.

"To play online your game (XCI) files need to have a unique certificate embedded. We now properly emulate these certificates, so dumps that have them embedded will be able to play online!"

does this mean its ok to run your own backup with unique cert on CFW instead of OFW?

What's new in this release?

> Improved homebrew compatibility

We've had reports of some homebrew not running at full speed or not working at all, these issues have been resolved. As you're probably aware, you can enjoy homebrew with SX OS for FREE! (without a license)

> Added fuse burn protection

Some people are worried about burning their consoles' fuses, preventing downgrades and possibly hindering upcoming emuNAND support. To put these minds at ease we now prevent these fuses from burning.

> Support user cert in XCI

To play online your game (XCI) files need to have a unique certificate embedded. We now properly emulate these certificates, so dumps that have them embedded will be able to play online! Beware though, it is *not* advised to share a certificate with multiple people. Your best option is to make a backup of your own cartridges for the games that you want to play online. A way to do this currently is using WAIN v0.0.3, which can be found here: https://www.maxconsole.com/threads/release-wain-xci-switch-cartridge-dumper-v0-0-3.47167/

In the future we will add our own user friendly cartridge backup functionality to SX OS.

That's it for now. We have much more coming for our userbase (CARD2 anyone?) and we hope you're all enjoying SX OS. Finally, we want to apologize to the people who are currently anticipating the arrival of their SX Pro... It will be worth the wait though!

https://sx.xecuter.com/download/SXOS_v1.1.zip

This just seem rather funny there letting people run homebrew for free fully knowing people are actively decrypting there OS as if through homebrew there os isn't vulnerable to be decoded and hooks function replicated I've found some nice hooks/functions with my test pro os and I gotta tell you this update just changed the encryption mostly for there os to be kinda harder to poke at but not enought to turn anyone alway from trying to in short

Even for Nintendo, I feel like that might be pushing the envelope since I don't believe they track where the headers are used. Its just easier to check to see if multiple ones are used at the same time. Also, it goes without saying, that you or your friend need to still have a certificate that is from the same game as the one you both are trying to play
