basically yes.
I've seen them changing his approach and now show the switch more like a handheld that can be easily connected to a tv rather than the oposite. more than likely to try to "compete" in the handheld market (that has no rivals) instead of the console one because they know they'll lose miserably to microsoft and sony there.
But they haven't explicitly said that the switch is a handheld either, so the console first, handheld second ideology still stands.
So your basic argument is, because Nintendo said it, it's true.

Interesting point, but you must accept that is only one way to look at things.

So you think authority is the most important argument. But I think functional use is more important.

It's kind of like the descriptive vs prescriptive argument in linguistics.

I had an idea a while ago for a tantrums :
A kid and his mom goes to walmart (or another store)
near the electronic section, the kid sees a panel :
TODAY
RELEASE OF PS4
The kid ask for his mom
she says she can't afford it
The kid start crying and yelling
The mom says :
If you raise enough money to pay half of it, I'll pay tyhe other half
The kid agrees

Then, you see the kid mowing the lawn
Walk with others dogs
Look after younger child
etc
2 weeks later, him and his mom goes to the store
they buy the PS4
The kid is happy
then, when going out of the electronic section, they see another panel
XBOX ONE RELEASES TODAY
the child start crying because he wants one

It's just a reference of the XBO being released at a very close date of PS4 release

Virtual boy sits in a similar place tbh, like it isn't a handheld because it isn't portable and it has a dedicated controller, but it's not a console because it doesn't attach to a tv

You'd obviously put it on the handheld side and display it in handheld mode. Because it honestly looks rather ugly in docked mode.
Or you could put the console on the handheld side and the dock on the home console side.

I mean it's basically a handheld that you can connect to your TV. No one claims my tablet is not portable when I connect it to my TV.

So... all this superior logic means that the Wii U is a handheld (in gamepad mode), and so is my PS4 when I use remote play on my Vita...
...fucktards.

I didn't have a Wii U. Did gamepad mode require the main hardware to be on at all? The remote play is definitely false though because the Switch has all the hardware inside and with remote play on a Vita you're just streaming the home console. The Ps4 still has to be on at all times, the Switch dock does not.

I would assume Wii U works the same way but like I said I (like most apparently) didn't actually have one to know

Heh. not bad.

Since I've always been a handheld guy, not a big deal. (And yes, I'd count the Switch as handheld... even if without its dock its gpu capability... is slashed...)
