Payed $15 for mine, i'm REALLY enjoying Lugaru, even if it is infuriatingly hard at some points.

Remember, if this turns out well, they're more likely to do stuff like this in the future. So donate away!

I have a soft spot for these kinds of developers.

I'm debating if I should take the plunge, as I'm running low on cash, or plop down some Jacksons meant for lunch.
Oh, the burdens of being human.

EDIT: Wow, the person who donated $500 is anonymous. I can't believe how good some people are out there.

I'm not assuming they did this but it could be a strategy some people use. Have an insider donate X amount and the person can take it back in the end. By seeing the X amount donated, it gives off a good impression and starts a chain reaction. Some people would actually donate seeing that its doing well with donations.

Kudos to those who donated. I remember them doing this before except it was only for World of Goo. I'm not very interested in those kind of games but this method definitely beats piracy in every aspect.

I put some money in and split it between the devs and the charity. I just hope the devs are getting enough of the profits to make it worth their while.

I love this concept! I can honestly say that this would end any desire to pirate - it's a lot easier to let go of a tiny amount for the chance to try a game, to find out if it's even worth the suggested retail value. Then I could donate more for the games that I liked, and not feel like I was robbed by spending too much on the ones I don't like.

They remove the pressure of feeling like we're accepting a butt-rape from the man, which tends to make anyone feel a lot more pleasant, lol

Haha, doing my first post in like a year (i still lurk from time to time, but been reaaaally busy)
to express my frustration at this.
I almost wish they had just set a 15 dollar price, cause I want to be a cheapskate and donate like 5 bucks, but I feel guilty about it :<
Haha.
Well, anyway, I loved world of goo and would love to own a legit version, so whatever happens I'll be donating something at least.
Oh, and I'm putting all my donation to the developers.

EDIT: eh, just did 5 bucks. I feel bad, but when I'm rich and monopolize the videogame world I'll buy up their companies and give them limitless funds to make whatever the heck they want.

I'd like to inform the other 'tempers that another game has been added to the bundle, Samorost 2 by Amanita Design.

If you still have the Key from your previous purchase, you can now download that too without having to pay additional fees (pratically it's another game for free!)!

I just downloaded it. It's funny that the Linux version is actually just an HTML document that embeds that swf (Flash) file:

But hey, if it works, I don't really care

I just played through Samorost 1 (free game) which was OK...

Spoke to Tom Fulp the other day, if he can find his old Newgrounds site content like the mini Flash animations from the 2000's that played on the portal.

So far no response, but he did say that he'll find them. Wayback Machine doesn't have em.

@SylverReZ, atleast the 1999 versión of pico's school is avaliable (the difference between it, the 2006 versión and the 2016 versión is that the speed of the game depends of the speed of your computer and that it had the og soundtrack)

@Xdqwerty, Another being Pico VS Bear, the original 1999 version before Jim Henson filed a DMCA takedown.

The 2006 versión was made when the flash portal was made

Many people thought it was lost, but was discovered that he hid it on the same page.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, although the "secrets" system where the game was has been removed. Also pico vs uberkids had a netplay versión that was shutdown, although the swf file has been found
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Nope. There are two download buttons on the same page, where you can download the original under a file called "bear.exe". "bear2.exe", however, is the updated game in a Flash projector. P.s. this was on the archived Pico page from 2000.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's been there for a long time, too. People who search for lost media don't look hard enough lmao.

@SylverReZ, also the pico 2 demos used to be only for the newgrounds patrons but they are on internet archive too (https://archive.org/download/picos_school_2)

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Iirc the demos were removed from newgrounds in 2022

Fun fact @SylverReZ: iirc one of the goals on the fnf Kickstarter stated that pico 2 would be finished but the Kickstarter didnt get enough money for that goal to be fullfiled

@Xdqwerty, FNF sucks, their community is toxic as hell.
