They could actually turn around the Wii U situation somewhat.
It would require the Wii U to play the same games as a new platform.
At the end of the Wii cycle there were some ports from 3DS 3rd-Party titles.
If Nintendo had done this as well, even the Wii could have had more success near the end.
I've been in favor of hybrid console (NX) from the beginning but just in case it's not gonna be one hybrid, this is one way to handle it.

I think for nintendo to turn around on the failed Wii u would be to go back and see how they can improve what made the Wii a success (more responsive motion sensors, wireless sensor bars and improved controllers etc) and at the same time make it easy for game producers to develop for the system, the tablet idea was a backwards step, and useless when playing games, lets hope nintendo learned from their mistakes
