Also, about the 215 tags, are they a write-once kinda deal? (Like burning a CDR?) And also is there a way to use the NFC reader you stated but in a raspberry pi? I would hope so because of the IO ports...

I remember I saw a video on YouTube where a guy (with his phone) flashed a yoshi amiibo then a kirby one but I can't find it anymore, maybe it depends on how you flash it to the tag? (I'm not a reliable source)

Far I know, yes, it gonna be that "amiibo" forever XD idk how maslanders could made it reusable õ3o

I thought they were, although, just checking codejunkies site, it says that their 'powertags' can be reused, how?

Im not bothered that its a one-shot deal (As long as it works) Because the stuff is so cheap, the only issue is the slow shipping from china

And then to start thinking about printing stickers for the amiibo cards...

Also, about the 215 tags, are they a write-once kinda deal? (Like burning a CDR?)

Legit 215 tags have a "lock" bit that they report to the Switch. 215 tags, once locked, can't have their IDs changed (but there's a small chunk of read/write memory that remains unlocked; this is how Shovel Knight works, for example.)

I vaguely remember that not all Nintendo games/systems check the lock bit; custom spoofing hardware sends the lock bit but isn't actually locked.

And also is there a way to use the NFC reader you stated but in a raspberry pi? I would hope so because of the IO ports...

Yes; you're going to need to port the software - but pretty sure nice NFC drivers/software already exists for the RPI. Any microcontroller that supports SPI can talk to the NFC522 - and that's basically everything at this point. :)

I assume its a simple solder to attach the pins to the RFID module for the connection to the UNO, its a very simple solder job, it could be worse! (My first go was modding a DMG!)

Yep! It's through-hole soldering, nothing too fancy. The biggest risks would be bridging pins - but that's easy to fix with some solder wick - or melting the header plastic.

Ok, so will an Arduino Mini work also?

Virtually any Arduino variant will work, however, the Arduino Mini does not have USB-to-Serial, so you're going to need a USB-to-Serial adapter, which generally costs more than just getting a new Arduino R3 clone. The Arduino R3 (and most arduino variants) has the USB-to-Serial chip onboard.

So, could this nfc module be used to emulate the ntag215 and skip buying any tags at all?

For principe, yes if the reader is capable to be accessed on low level. But you need to manage emulating an amiibo tag.
The easyest way would be to clone them to ntag215.
Also you have no hassle with reading/writing the content to emulate when you use ntag215s.

I fail to see the need for this and all the equipment. You can easily write to NTAGs with smartphones that have NFC for free with TagMo.

cause
a: not everyone has android phones(they should... but they dont)
b: not everyone's android phones have nfc capability.
if they dont meet those requirements this is infinitly cheaper...

Wouldn't it just be cheaper and easier to get power tag...it cost 15 bucks , comes with one power tag and you can get the NFC stickers and program those too? No solder , no having to worry if it works , just plug and play
