Surprised nobody made a thread (or threads) about it (okay, okay...there's this one), but ey...I guess it's too big to go unnoticed. So probably a bit late, but...

Fox news media and Tucker Carlson part ways

Carlson was, of course, the controversial talk show host on Fox media, and the highest-rated single host on the fox network. Outside his fan base he is seen as a promoter of conspiracy theories and radical rhetoric and promoted white nationalist's agenda.

It's also a week after Fox settled the dominion case, paying them 787 million dollar. That most likely influenced the decision. Especially since his behavior off-screen showed he knew very well that some of the things he proclaimed on-screen were false (eg. Sidney Powell's claims about dominion). Still...what I thus far haven't heard is WHY it happened. Fox's own note about it is barely more than the news of their historic dominion settlement, and Carlson isn't adding context either.

Though I'm aware it's opening a can of worms...what's your take on all this?

FOX News just fired the one man people tuned in to watch their channel.

Whenever he makes a YouTube channel, I'll check it out.

Fox news own legal team stated that reasonable viewers wouldn't take Ticket Carlson seriously and with skepticism.

So this means that objectively, people who actually listened to him or watched his show as a source of news would be unreasonable people.

The show was also understandably, having a hard time finding sponsors after 1/6 despite the viewership.

I personally cannot stand US cable news, and believe it's a cancer. But damn, they shot them selves in the foot with this one. It's also pretty strange how he got canned, the same day Don Lemon got canned. They'll both most likely bounce back anyway.

This guy is not very famous around the world, but looks like he is huge in the USA.

I know he's political side just because he came here and met very dangerous people (fascists that say loud and clear that we need to become a dictatorship).

After that I saw Tucker again on cuts from a interview he did with Donald Trump, and that is what feels odd for me. A guy that has enough prestige to interview a former US president being fired few weeks after it. Was the interview bad? or he did something wrong off camera?

(being far right extremist is a no-problem on USA TV so that's why I wonder about the reasons)

Basically, this is just speculation:

Fox News has just settled with Dominion (A company responsible for voting machines in the US) for ~800 Million USD because Fox News and it's moderators have perpetually claimed fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

They have repeatedbly been making claims about the voting machines and how they were used to manipulate the results.

During the proceedings, it came to light (from copies of internal communication) that a lot of the Fox staff apparently knew their statements made on live TV were false. Tucker Carlson in particular seems to have also repeatedly voiced negative opinions about former president Donald Trump in private, which also came to light leading up to the trial.

With another voting-machine-company (Smartmatic) announcing they are going to litigate against Fox News for the same reason, Tucker Carlson (and other moderators) is presumably a big liability for Fox, so they rather get rid of him.

Bowtie boy's ego finally got to be just as overinflated as Murdoch's and they butted heads one too many times. Good riddance to yesterday's garbage, though I'm sure he'll be easy enough to replace on the Hateporn Hour.

Is it?
I mean...I always thought Hannity and Fox & friends got roughly the same amount of viewers, but I don't watch fox myself, so I can't say.

Heh...I've heard the same arguments about Hannity in the 9/11 aftermath (in the documentary "outfoxed", iirc). Basically: it's all news...except the moments where things are perceived as controversial. Those statements (that are neither announced nor indicated) are purely the opinion of the news host. Who at that time isn't a news host but a regular one. Or a bad comedian or something.

is this sarcasm? Fox "interviews" Trump whenever the latter feels like spouting whatever he wants. And Trump only wants to go on Fox because it has a large audience and they don't do interviews. Just basic sucking up. Otherwise said: Trump uses fox as a twitter replacement.
(I mean, seriously: that interview with Hannity about the stolen documents is more absurd than the saturday night live parodies. And that's saying something).

Motherfucker is terrible in all of the aspects, he looks like he's severelly brain damaged.

Fox staff apparently knew their statements made on live TV were false.

Can you clarify, with reference if you need? What does false mean here? Unprovable? Directly contridicting provable facts?

I never got to personally tally everyone's vote and cross check signatures and proof of existence, so I can't trust what anyone says further than I can throw a tv. These days I can throw a tv a lot further.

Court documents show that Mr Murdoch referred to the claims about Dominion as "really crazy", but failed to take any action.
In one series of text messages, top-rated host Tucker Carlson said some of the claims were "insane". Another host, Sean Hannity, said privately he did not believe them "for one second".
Fox has said the words were taken out of context.
Ahead of the trial, Judge Davis ruled that the claims against Dominion had already been proven false, emphasising that the falsehoods were "crystal clear".

You do realize that doesn't answer the question and doesn't provide further factual information, don't you? There's a difference between grooming an opinion and providing facts.

I imagine those who want to pile on the racist are racist themselves.
