On the "flashcard-archive ds-homebrew com" website, there is a folder containing the files for "r4i (dash) gold com" cartridges. However the readme.txt warns of cards that won't work.

The label on this card shows as "v1.4" yet the readme.txt says only cards from v1.4.1 to v1.4.4 will work. However mine is a v1.4, should I install it or not?

EDIT: I'm putting it in a blue DSi and white DS Lite with no result whatsoever

Right before making this post I formatted the SD card that this r4 card used, so now I just have to wait till I get a confirmation from you guys.

Do you have a pic of the card?

Absolutely!
Its the one on the right. (I will probably make different posts for each cards, considering all of them have their issues lol)

In case it cannot be seen or read anymore:
Title: R4 (i)
Style: Same as the OG R4 card but with yellow instead of black

Subtitle: Revolution for DS (NDSi XL/NDSi/NDSL/NDS)
Link on the bottom: 3 "W"s followd by "R4I-GOLD" ending with a "com"

The V1.4 card should work with BL2CK. TWL++ Menu will also work too.

Thanks. May you send me the links to the correct BL2CK & TWL++?

Also, I did mention that my SD card is wiped. I made a backup just in case but I'd like to start fresh. Do I need anything else? Should I install BL2CK and *then* TWL++?

Just so I know. TWL++ menu only works on the DSi and 3DS right? I actually would like for it to work on my DSL as well. If not I'll use the BL2CK kernel instead.

You can use the flashcard version of TWLmenu++. It will work for the DSL. Just remember to use the correct file for your flashcard.

This cartridge clearly states that it was also designed for the DSi. Since the cart has been blacklisted on later system firmwares, you can use it if you install custom firmware.

Yes. Running it on a DS lite, however, would require a flashcart. Just as long as you use the correct files, then it'll work.

1st - Format SD card. I used gnome-disks-utility (Disk management utility provided by the GNOME foundation in their latest GNOME version, 45. Using Linux rn, Nobara to be exact, or more like Fedora.)
-> Set every bit to 0
-> Create a new partition (FAT 32-bit) and MBR
2nd - Download and extract TWL++ through the link you provided
3rd - Move the following files: "_nds/", "roms/" and "BOOT.nds"
4rd - Remove from computer and plug into R4 gold (com) v1.4 card
5th - Tried both on the DSL and DSi both on both the default menu shows up.

Well the problem is that you didn't use the flashcard files required for TWLmenu++ to launch on your card.
However I did not found any files for one of your cards though, so I am not sure if TWLmenu++ is supported on your cards.

I found out that you actually can use YSmenu for now but this one:
https://flashcard-archive.ds-homebrew.com/r4i-gold.eu/old/

Use that for your R4i 3DS card from r4i-gold.eu.
