If you’ve followed my other topic, I’m currently looking at potentially switching to Android due to a deal on the Note 20 Ultra. The biggest downside to this however is that I need to buy a new smart watch.

I’m currently considering either something Android Wear related or Samsung Galaxy Watch/Tizen related.

The Galaxy Watch 1/3 are tempting, but not being Android wear does anyone have any experience with these?

The main things I’m curious about is:
1) Android Wear app compatibility (Argos promotes it as being compatible)
2) NFC payments (UK), I know one of one my banks is compatible with Samsung Pay but I’ll avoid this watch line if few places accept it.
3) Calls/messaging/whatsapp experience
4) Music, particularly local music and Spotify
5) Alexa support
6) General usage e.g. real world battery life, day to day usage, etc.

Thank you

I have a samsung gear sports watch (relatively old one). I'd say messages and notifications are really reliable and you would probably would want to disable them on a per app basis. On my watch, I believe that I can actually store music on the watch itself but its not something I would use. External music apps work on it just fine. Battery life just gets you through the day with some battery left over but you would probably want to charge every night.

Overall, its a good experience. It serves its purpose and it looks nice. I use it to quickly see notifications, workout, and control music playback. Other than that, everything else is better off done on your phone

Sorry, forgot to update.

I ended up getting the Ticwatch.

Overall opinion is mixed mainly due to wear os, but I love the dual display/3 day battery life and being able to code my apps for it.

It's not the movies or games downloads that I would worry about, like breaking into networks, downloading encrypted things, spying on network traffic. I have seen so many "Top Secret" seals on files when I was a kid
