Hacking What is with the CFW Wars?

Why do you care? If I have zero need or desire to use it, I would like to have the ability to disable it.

if it's not doing anything, there is zero purpose to disabling something that isn't doing anything. you're asking for a useless toggle.

If you have no plans to introduce an ability to disable Rosalina, that's fine, and that's all you had to say. As I said, I'll be gladly sticking with Luma 7.1 until I have a reason to switch.

if rosalina is not the source of your problems, disabling it is pointless. this has been explained time and time and time again.

removing the rosalina module would result in it having even less features than legacy. maintaining two sets of patches is hell.

if you are having issues (bugs, etc) with rosalina then it would be good to post them to the issue tracker so they can be fixed. but in the mean time I don't understand why people desperately want something to disable rosalina when it's doing nothing if they're not using it for anything.

I'm not attacking anyone, but this question has been brought up repeatedly in the Luma3DS thread, and the answer has always been the same. A lot of patches depend on Rosalina, so adding a toggle would have to provide some weird hybrid patching system that can both use legacy style patches and Rosalina style patches. That's such a terrible idea that would be so bad no matter how well it's implemented.

Since Rosalina resides in SYSTEM rather than APPLICATION memory it also has literally 0 affect on the amount of memory available for games or whatever. All bugs that were caused by it should have been ironed out. Any bugs that haven't been ironed out should be reported so they can be fixed.

I don't like the idea of Luma being the only working CFW, but hope developement don't stop because people sticking to legacy build, but most likely it will piss off Luma devs

To think I'd come across a term that could rival "brick" in terms of misuse, "attacked." I didn't read insults like "stubborn jackass" directed towards you, let alone made, it looks more like arguing a point that has been argued to death, so the tone to you sounds offensive, when it's really more like "Oh here we go again," followed by being really blunt, and matter-of-fact. That's just my interpretation.

Luma. Simple as that.

But what I wouldn't do is recommend it to people who've been in the scene long enough to understand what happens to the system.

You see, we aren't trying to get rid of Luma, we just want to stop letting everybody say it is the only option

I still would. Until other CFWs have a fully featured GDB stub and arm11/arm9 exception handlers they come nowhere near the quality of Luma3DS for developers.

Luma is the only CFW that currently supports B9S, which is why (I may be wrong but I think I am correct in stating this).

In the A9LH times, it was a lot easier to pick and choose.

Actually ReiNAND supports B9S 1.2, there were a release made in this post
Right now there is just a lot of work going on behind the scenes for the next big update. So there hasn't been anything posted to the repos, until it's finished being tested.
