So, the Wii U has a Wii mode, and well, I have my Wii U plugged into my capture card which outputs both to my monitor and PC, but on my monitor, it has a pinkish tint? I've never had this happen before and it seems to only happen in Wii mode, and it seems to happen with all Wii software by the looks of it. I used to have my Wii U plugged into my TV, but I never had issues on my TV.

I'm using a Wii U basic 8GB unmodded, and an Acer S220HQL monitor, and an Acer Nitro 5 laptop. I'm using a cheap capture card, which has a HDMI to HDMI cable being used as input, and HDMI to DVI cable being used as output.

Might be the screen or the capture card. Acer is a crappy brand for monitor.

My screen works fine when in Wii U mode, when attached to my Switch, and when attached to my PC, I don't see it likely to be my capture card, with my Switch and PC, I have used it without my capture card before

Hard to tell unless you got another screen or capture card to test, how it is on the screen without the capture card?

Well at least the cables are good, mentioned it cause analog stuff like VGA cables would die out like that. DVI cables could be ran in analog mode, just keep putting more info about this,

Maybe try a different capture card, get a better quality one like Elgato

I would, but I refuse to spend the amount that Elgato charges for capture cards, I'm still unsure what could be the reason ngl

Also, just to note your pictures are dark, do you have any lights to shine on your setup?
I basically only have my lamp on the opposite side of the room lol, here's a closer look if that helps, obviously this is without the capture card btw

Well it has to do with the capture card, it is the quality of the card, you pay for a cheap one so you get crappy display on the screen that it output.
It honestly outputs fine though, I don't have the best way to show it, but I had my Wii U plugged into my capture card, in Wii U mode, since that seems to be fine, and it displayed fine, this was around October 29th:

I could try that, although it's definitely gonna bug me being able to see how blurry it'll be though.

I should also note that I'm running at 1080p, and it reports that I'm running at that when I'm in Wii mode as well (I assume it runs at 576i in Wii mode, and upscales it on device)

That Wii U mode, cause if you got a normal screen when it is on Wii Mode without the capture card then it is the capture card.

All I can add is that it displays fine previously on my Samsung H5600 TV, using a HDMI to HDMI cable (the one bundled with the console, the one I use with my capture card isn't the one bundled with it). I haven't tested it with my TV in a while though.

I went here on this post to get that idea on 480p

About the green/pink screen problem in Wii mode on the Wii U

renderTimingPixel.png

Longtime lurker, finally registered to make this post:
Many users have a problem with the colors of the Wii mode on the Wii U when using an HDMI cable. Here is a video demonstrating the problem:
Many people have experienced this problem with Sony TVs, for which apparently a firmware update is available to solve this problem. But many other users are affected as well. I have this problem since a recent firmware update on both my Epson 8350 projector and on my Dell U2311H screen, that are both connected to my Wii U via a Yamaha RX-375 receiver.
There is a workaround for this issue: Set your screen resolution to 480p in the Wii U settings. This works perfectly, as at 480p the Wii U in Wii mode correctly delivers RGB colors via HDMI and as Wii games don't look any worse at 480p. Since the resolution is 720x480 (3:2), on some devices you have to stretch the image to 16:9 in the device's settings if that is not done automatically.
However it is of course very annoying to switch the resolution back and forth all the time when switching between Wii U games and Wii games. Thus I would like to encourage everybody who experiences this problem to write to Nintendo, so we can get it fixed soon. Please state specifically which devices you have connected to help them identify the problem. It is definitely a software/firmware problem, so it should be easy to fix.
You can contact Nintendo via their support web form or just write them directly at [email protected] . The more people do this, the sooner we will get it fixed hopefully.

Will try when I get the chance, although I might try 720p as well since I have a PAL console, and there's no way to tell whether Wii games are running at 576p50 or 480p60.

Still haven't got round to trying it, but I was just looking back on this post and you mentioned at 480p it correctly delivers RGB colours? Do you think this might have anything to do with HDMI range capabilities, because I know that some TVs support a limited range (like my Samsung I'm replacing in a few days), but some support a full colour range.

May just have to make something myself.

@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
