pretty sure you can also boot gamecube discs with cheats on usbloader gx

The game doesn't really need to be PLAYABLE in dolphin, it just needs to load. Just go in your house so the game doesnt have to render much, use the codes, save, wash your hands of it.

I can't use USB Loader GX because:
1. I don't have the ROM. I play from disc.
2. The ROM wouldn't fit on my SD Card.

I'll second the suggestion to load your save into an emulator, apply the cheat, and save. I've done that with DS games that would barely run on my old, overheating laptop, and though they ran at 15% speed, I only needed about 10 seconds to get the job done.

Couldn't tell from the post. If you can use Nintendont, DIOS-MIOS, or NeoGamma with a disk, then it seems like it should work. I don't know if you can, though.

I was just about to link to that, and you should be able to use cheats with a retail disc. If not, just make a backup with CleanRip
Enable codes for the game in Nintendont's settings (B-button).
If you want, I could even make the gct cheat file for you.

Action replay won't break it, in fact, I remember someone porting action replay to homebrew on the wii so you could use your disc and send cheats VIA SD card.

This issue was already worked out. That method required all kinds of CiOS stuff, and since I have no brick protection (my Wii was manufactured after 2008, RIP Bootmii) I decided against that method. In the end I used Nintendon't.

if you can boot homebrew on a gamecube then you can just load the action replay .dol executives. you can add codes and save them to any memory card. works the same as if you had a ar disc.
