"sometimes it would read low nomally"
sometimes is the key word. if you solder it will always have a similar low value.

Why should they not be able to enable the internal pullup(if not already) and read the pin state?
Personally i think they would definitely check for that io tied to gnd as soon as possible on System startup.

Still not reliable. When your joy-con is disconnected, it won't read it as low so...

Gona answer by your own answer.
"sometimes it would read low nomally"
once again somtimes, if you perma short it its always low. that paired with the fact that the joycon is connected is sure to raise flags. next it could compare other system related thing to stange occurances. if so ban.
Nintendo isnt stupid.

Nintendo isn't. Nvidia is :D
Sometimes can equal always. That is the problem.
And what if you short it by mistake? Auto ban? Just not reliable. What if it is low for like 4 hours until you turn your console off? Ban?

So, you will only connect your joycon with System powered off and volume key held?

If you miss the exploit entry only one time the bridge could be detected. Easy as that.
Also i could not imagine a "normal" fault which would tie that specific pin to gnd.

.. Only my 10 cents

thats the ideal case and i thing that way it hard for them to detect it. but if you always bridge it its another story.

Go argue with Reswitched team. I am pretty sure they know what they are talking about...
This is just not how it works.

there where also quite a few "unpatchable" exploit for the 3ds(or any device) that where patched.
that not exactly the same case here but shows that devs can be wrong too.

Useless thread, i am out.
Everybody should do as he thinks, but telling other people this is without risk is not right imho.

yet hundreds of people believe them. Probably because they do something useful for the community.

you cant read can you?
"that not exactly the same case here but shows that devs can be wrong too."
devs can be wrong, but pure facts probably can't. Like that the pin is sometimes low.

that part doesnt stand to conquest but like the devs says "it can be somtimes low". Grounding the pin results in a mostly constant low reading. and mostly and sometimes are two vastly different probatilities.
