GBA Why Shiny hunting when there's PkHex?

This is something that i don't understand; what's the point of shiny hunting anymore? You can dump and restore GBA save files with ease if you have a R4, with that you can use PkHex and RNGReporter to make a *Legal* shiny pokémon. I don't get it

For the enjoyment of the game and some accomplishment really.

But that's cheating. There's no fun in that.

some people don't have access to the hardware (flashcart, action replay/powersave, an exploited console, etc) or want to keep their gameplay entirely legitimate. even if you transported a legal shiny pokemon all the way to the current gen the way you're suggesting, it won't have that "originated in galar/alola/kalos" marking that some people take incredibly seriously now.
