Hello,
I just cleaned my WIIU and it was 5.5.3U, I removed the folder lock to update it, I entered the 5.5.6U update and it stayed at 99%. (I don't remember if I had the MOCHA CFW on at that time) but it turns out that I went out for a moment and they turned off the console, at that time where it was at 99%, I thought it would take a while because I left the HDD connected, when it turns on it does absolutely nothing , It does not give an image and does not connect with the gamepad, I can't even see the "WIIU" startup image.

I tried to use:
UDPIH: USB Host Stack exploit + Recovery Menu
I didn't get any results, could anyone advise me if there is any solution?

Since I see many tutorials but I don't know where to start...
Did I get lost with the ISFShax and the CBHC Unbrick Guide or do I have to do something from the internal memory?

I would post images but it's just the console without doing anything other than changing the red LED to blue... and that's it...

Probably a bad eMMC.
UDPIH will probably not work, because it crashes too early.
You need either to defuse or dump and write back (or better replace with an SD) the eMMC. But for that you need also to solder.

Leaving it on for longer wouldn't have helped. It was dead when it freezed

More like a "tipical" -Update brick my wii u- problem and there are lots of it on this forum ,you can find solutions searching the brick and update words.
Here are some examples:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/bricked-unmodded-wiiu-during-update-no-backups-next-steps.618441/
https://gbatemp.net/threads/unhacked-wii-u-bricked-after-firmware-update-and-wont-load-udpih.631822/
https://gbatemp.net/threads/lost-case-saving-a-bricked-wii-u-without-anything.604422/

a possible solution:

@Squeaky

I just solved this exact issue. The 76% lock up and everything. Here is what I did:

Get a Lan adapter.
Connect an ethernet cable.
Turn on the Wii U and wait a bit.
Reboot the Wii U.
That should solve your issue.

I tried everything else I could but this solved my issue. I found the solution in this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/black-screen-of-death.538951/post-8663743

As a personal experience I strongly recommend to deactivate the environment payload when the console boot, leaving it only when you open the healt and security channel once.
And I recommend activating the sleep mode functions and the quick menu of the gamepad.

Thus, the console is updated via Wi-Fi without any problem, while it is in rest mode, because apparently the majority of failures occur when the user activates the update manually.

Dont forget to recreate the update folder if you previously deleted and that's it, after the update returns the options to how they were previously.

Thanks for answering,
I have no problem with assembling and welding it, as long as I have the material and a clear procedure for what I have to do I can replicate it...

If I replace the chip you mention, do I lose the saved games?
That memory stores everything in the same place, right?

The truth is, this is new to me, I stopped following the Wiiu years ago, and nothing had been offered to me, I got lost with so much information, that's the truth, that's why I chose to ask...

I will be reviewing what you sent and I will see if it goes into sleep mode, which I think the blue LED stayed on and it never changed in 30 minutes when I left it on and it did not give an image or turn on the Gamepad...

I really appreciate your comments, thank you really...

I would suggest you read this to get an overview over the different procedures:

If you dump the old eMMC and OTP you can extract the savegames from that.

Following the logic of Leds, it is
"static blue
Wait 1m, try turning off by shortly (less than 1s) pressing power
Still on -> OS crash"

I already tried to enter sleep mode, and I think it didn't enter because it is deactivated or something... although it does have a registered Wi-Fi... the LED does not turn orange...

I'm going to be reading the links you gave me to see what I can do...

Thanks Dakangel

I'm already looking at where I can get a lan adapter, to try that option also in what I continue reading...
I hope can lend it to me today and leave it overnight...
If the lan adapter doesn't work between now and Saturday, I will get another option...

Thank you, I really appreciate your collaboration.

Edit:
I already got a USB to LAN adapter, I left it in the front port, the one closest to the SD, without SD and without HDD, only connected the HDMI...
I don't know what the LEDs on the adapter mean, one solid orange and one flashing with rhythm... but they only work when the Wiiu has the Blue LED... if it's red, you can't see them doing anything... I guess it's normal, and the wiiu will try to connect to the internet at some point in the evening after hours...

Does the adapter have to say anything special about the Wiiu or Switch console? It's a generic one, I don't know if it works...

edit 2:
tecknet adapter
model: EHU01043
bulk: ZY2106

Wiiu I had automatic updates disabled, automatic DNS, and sleepmode disabled...

I'm going to order a cheap lan adapter from aliexpress for the meantime...

lets wait and see what happens...

Only one very specific lan chipset works with the Wii U. The USB 3 one for the switch doesn't. But a Adapter for the Wii U would work in the switch. There is a UGreen one that works, but you really need to make sure that it has the right chipset.

But anyway, it's pretty save to say that this won't help you. Freezing during an update (which is write heavy) is usually scfm failing to flush to the eMMC, because of en error on the eMMC. If that is the case the system will crash on boot very early, because SCFM will crash during its init when it tries the flush again and that takes the whole system with it.
That is nothing a LAN adapter can fix, because it won't even boot to the point where it could use it. And even if it could, what should that do?

I left the lan adapter on all night but it didn't do anything, I'll be busy these days so I'll read the information you sent and on Saturday I'll see if I can do something about it...

Thanks again for your comment.

OS Crash
1.- Lan adalpter
2.- UDPIH: USB Host Stack exploit + Recovery Menu

3.- Binary Zip v0.8 & pico_deFuse

What I read and understand, I have to install the Raspberry pico in "pico_defuse" mode, then:
1710474498198.png

shinyquagsire23/wii_u_modchip/releases
  1. Flash pico_defuse.uf2 to the Raspberry Pi Pico via USB. This can be done by copying the file to the USB Mass Storage device that appears.
  2. Flash boot1.img to a 1GB SD card. Some 2GB cards may work, but 1GB seems to be the sweet spot--it just has to be non-SDHC. boot1.img includes an MBR header, so you may have to format the FAT32 partition after flashing in order to continue. Flashing can be done via win32diskimager, dd, or any other SD card formatter.
  3. Copy fw.img, the wiiu folder, and otp.bin to the root of the SD card. If you do not have otp.bin, it can be dumped via Backup and Restore > Dump OTP via PRSHhax.
  4. Power on the Wii U console. If it is working correctly, the power LED will flash and turn purple. By default, the minute menu will appear on the serial console, however an INI file can be placed on the SD card to trigger autobooting.

Following these steps, now with the SD files and the raspberry ready, I have to make a
"When defused we can look at the live syslog using miniterm/putty on the PC, then we can see where it crashes / hangs."

Looking at the "syslog" would you know what to do? What would you expect to see in the syslog?
I mean, restore the eMMC that they mention, right?
I would suggest you read this to get an overview over the different procedures: https://gbatemp.net/threads/ultimat...reset-black-screen-after-stuck-update.642339/
If you dump the old eMMC and OTP you can extract the savegames from that.

What would it be like to do the "If you dump the old eMMC and OTP you can extract the savegames from that"?
thats means "How To: Upgrading / Rebuilding Wii U Internal Memory (MLC)" right?

Don't connect the 3V3. Also I recommend getting GND from something more robust than the pad and use that as a stress relief.
Also use magnet wire for the other connections to reduce stress on the pads

Where do you recommend making the 3v3 and gnd connection?

this magnetized cable use..

I always use it, in my opinion, it's fine, unless you recommend another type...

Should I route the raspberry out? or just to repair and then remove, I just want it to work, I don't think about making mods...

You just don't connect the 3V3, you don't need it as the pico will get power from USB. GND wherever you find convenient. All the gold and the metal shields of the connectors are GND

It took me a while because there were interruptions... but that's how it stayed, I'm already preparing the 1GB SD to see what happens...

neither violet nor orange, only 3 blue flashes and then it turns off or does not respond and stays red...
Any recommendation?
How do you use the PuTTY?

SD card not valid or not inserted, doing a normal boot.
[pico] Changed state: WIIU_STATE_NEEDS_DEFUSE -> WIIU_STATE_DEFUSED
[pico] Changed state: WIIU_STATE_DEFUSED -> WIIU_STATE_MONITORING

1710785763691.png

Is it normal for me to make so many errors?
I want to think that not...
I just need to check the SD well apparently...
It is a 1GB MicroSd in fat32 with the following files... What is wrong?
1710786042119.png

edit3:
Sometimes it shows error C3, what is that?
1710786279258.png

edit4:
I already tried these 2 memories in Fat & fat32 formatted with "SDCardFormatterv5_WinEN" with the same result...
Will it be the memory or the format?
I have no more memories...

You need to flash the boot1.img to the sdcard using Win32DiskImager. After that format the Partition to FAT32 using Windows. You can also resize the Partition afterwards to fill the whole SD (only move the end, leave the 64MB free at the start of the card)

I had done it several times, and it didn't work, I repeated it once more after reading your comment and it worked the first time, it seems like black magic JAJAJA

Ok Nice, now go to Backup and Restore and then dump the otp via PRSHhax.
After that you can try the Patch and Boot and see what happens.

I think something went wrong...
I want to think it's an eMMC error or something like that.

As expected SCFM crashes directly after Init because of bad eMMC when it tries to flush.

Even with the right LAN adapter you could have waited till the end of the universe and it wouldn't have helped.
And waiting longer on the update also wouldn't have helped. The update froze because it bricked.

So the eMMC needs to be replaced and then you can just rebuild the mlc.
I don't think you wanted to backup saves, but if you want to now would be the moment for it.
