First of all, my stupid school just keeps getting garbage we haven't learned in our exams.
I would've gotten a lot more than just 3 exams in which I scored 100 in.
I went to someone responsible, and I argued about that. Her reply was "You don't have to study every scenario that comes in the exam; use your brain!"
?? How should I know what Antibiotics are supposed to cure if I never learned it? I can't use my brain to make it rain ponies you know.. and they blame ME for not knowing the answer? I have the right to sue their asses as it isn't the first time. In fact, I've blogged about this certain issue MANY times.
Second of all, I have some of the best grades in this school. I'm quite known for that. Today was the ceremony where they were giving awards to people who've gotten good grades last year. With averages of A+s and A's, I really expected to get an award.

I didn't.

Why? Because apparently last year I didn't do all that good in social studies, and if I got HALF A POINT more than what I did, I'd get an award. Seriously???
And I'm not talking about ANY award, I'm talking about honors, distinctions and scholarships.

Third of all, I fought with a close friend of mine.
I don't even want to talk about it.
I'll mention it in "Worst Day Of My Life" Part 2.
It's really long.

Every school gets questions on exams that students didn't learn. Ya know what most mature students do?

Antibiotics block the biochemical pathways of the bacteria so that they can't spread throughout your body. And like _chaz_ said, deal with it.

Meh, I'm the type that complains untiiilll a difference is made.
Seriously though, you should see how much it affects not just my grades, but everyone's grades. And I mean A LOT.

It's called reality, deal with it.

Actually, less.

The argument of suing an institution that asks questions on material that wasn't explicitly covered is a laughable matter. What do you think separates the A+ students from the As? Anyone can pick up a textbook and study 24/7 and get close to perfect if the exam was solely based on memorization.

If 1/2 a point kept you from a scholarship etc then that just sucks, any logical person would have spoken to the professor and explained their situation. They usually give that 0.5-1% bump if it would affect your entire future...

Wait till you get to the university level ... some questions belong in an entirely different course.

In geometry, they got a whole page we did not learn.
In science, it was new material here and there.
In religion, they got things related to laws and languages??
I swear, I wrote a letter on the back of my exams to have these questions disregarded.
The teacher replied "No. I don't care."

EDIT: (to the bold part) It's not laughable when you haven't even learned a single lesson relating to antibiotics.. literally.
There was like a whole group of maybe 200 students in front of the office, all lined-up with their exams wanting to complain. No action taken of course... *facepalm*

Honestly at your age, you shouldn't even be worrying about school till grade 11/12 when the REAL school starts all this other shit is just useless preparation for it. I remember stressing about the stupidest things when I was young and only recently realized how stupid I was because it didn't effect my future in any way.

In red pen, a teacher replied "No. I don't care." It's not the teacher's place to disregard questions on an exam, they can only prepare you for them.

The world is unfair, blah blah blah.

If you really think it's that big of an issue, take it up with the district. If enough people complain at that level, they have no choice but to do something.

In geometry, they got a whole page we did not learn. It's math. You're supposed to use your own logic to solve things too.
In science, it was new material here and there. In your book. And that's what logical guessing is about.
In religion, they got things related to laws and languages?? Laws are generally part of religion.

None of you have gone to a hospital and none of you know that an antibiotic is? Really? Just proves that people tend to forget things they think they don't need. They don't need to teach you anything, they also have to test what you retain.

Also, awards are good, but they do not have a significant effect at this point. I mean it sucks for you, but I was top 4 of the batch last year and what did I get? Nothing.

It's your grade, you cannot blame the school, it's your own grade, and you made it.

1) It wasn't in the textbook. I checked.
2) Okay now that really wasn't in my textbook either.
3) No. Rules are what form religions. Rules you have to follow and believe, not some questions about learning foreign languages and whatnot.

4) The teacher could at least forward it to someone responsible. Of course, that didn't and never will happen.

I'm surprised around 200 students (basically the entire grade) wasn't enough to convince the co-directors of my section of the school.

Ah well, at this point, there is nothing I can do. This school is garbage anyways, and when I move next year, I'll probably repeat the same grade on purpose to get the grades I deserved.

The most thing that bothered be is the half-point thing.
Imagine, the opportunity to obtain HONORS, DISTINCTIONS and SCHOLARSHIPS gone for half a point? :/

I don't believe that they weren't in your textbooks, either you didn't look or you have out-dated text books.
How are laws not rules?

You're complaining to the wrong people.

It's true, believe it or not. The science one is like from 1999 or something, but the geometry one was updated this year.
It's just a bad school in general.
If it was in the books, 200 students wouldn't complain, and I've checked.
I am talking about religion rules sir

(Islam)
And how is complaining to the teachers, the co-directors, and phoning the admin to be more careful going to the wrong people?
Who else should I talk to?

Just get over it.
If you really want to get full marks, revise for the stuff you didn't know after the test, then you'll know it for the next test.

Yeah... I mean I guess I could expect worse.
If you've read the first post in this thread though, I mentioned that I was also in a dispute and that I'll be talking about it later.
Today was so messed up.

I wish I could. But it was a term exam. It's a new term right now, so no more of those old lessons.
And it's always that the surprising questions come in the term exam

Ah well, I gotta endure this final term here.

Just to nitpick it depends on the antibiotic used. Most do indeed block biochemical pathways, but others such as polymyxins are cell membrane disrupters, which don't technically block biochemical pathways! But nevermind lol.

Anyway, it's probably worth talking this over with a member of staff you trust. Do they give you a specification of what you need to learn? They really should do that. If it's something you feel strongly about then you should definitely keep trying to make your voice heard. For this to work though, you have to provide good evidence for your case. Your word isn't enough for them
