Gaming Xbox one x games question

I have an Xbox one and want to know if I can play xbox one games with my friend who has the Xbox one x if yes is there a compatibility list or will any game work?

Every single Xbox One game runs on the Xbox One X. Microsoft didn't allow any developer to make Xbox One X only games. They only allowed them to update the game to utilize the better hardware in the One X hence "Xbox One X Enhanced Game".
