Xbox price rise hinted by Phil Spencer

xbox.jpg

During the Wall Street Journal's annual Tech Live conference, Xbox's Phil Spencer hinted at future price hikes across the platform, from consoles to games to Game Pass.

"We've held price on our console, we've held price on games... and our subscription," Spencer said. "I don't think we'll be able to do that forever. I do think at some point we'll have to raise some prices on certain things, but going into this holiday we thought it was important to maintain the prices."

It might have been an expected move from Xbox given the general trend in the industry. But it's safe to say that the same prices will apply at least till this holiday season for Xbox gaming options.

Gaming: Hasn't raised prices in 3 decades
Gamers: *surprised pikachu when devs needed to sell DLC on the side to survive*

Prices go up. That's how the world works. Except in gaming because gamers are so fucking stupid and whiny.

This is bullshit... Phil's only raising prices because Sony did first. I see through their bullshit. Corporate greed is REAL, folks.

Nintendo started the ball rolling with price fixing,
Sony started the ball rolling with price RAISING. This is what our economy and gaming has come to.
Build a gaming PC, guys. And not one with those overpriced greedvidia cards either
Actually Nvidia 3000s are dirt cheap right now due to the overstock of cards from the crypto crash. probably the best time to pick one up now.

This is Sexist. Women don't make as much money as Men. So Microsoft is essentially pricing out Women gamers from this hobby.

Its funny how these greedy companies make it sound like they've been doing you a favor.

You make that much money you wouldn't even notice it, but then again, greedy fuckers only look at how they can have even more money than enjoy what money the actually have.

Its not like they're going to go like sega did anytime soon, well, time will see if they continue to let CoD get away with charging full whack for an dummy disc.

You mean price-gouging?
Most of us are dealing with real world inflation in all aspects of our lives thanks to trickle down shit-enomics from the ongoing energy crises and the supply and production issues that started with the pandemic. If you don't believe that Microsoft has such a valid reason, you shouldn't support them. I wouldn't either.

Honestly this is just funny after seeing Microsoft go to the CMA saying that Sony has such massive market power that it can raise prices without consequences. I doubt this defense against Sony's rejections to the Activision Blizzard buyout will be lasting that long.

Also is it me, or the standard Switch has gone down by £10 and the OLED has gone up by £10 or am I just crazy? store.nintendo.co.uk
