I've had a relapse and things feel about the same

Porn is still an issue for me, it is a literal and palpable hell. It has been tormenting me and my biggest fear is people hating me or thinking less of me for giving it up, if that makes any sense. Right now, I'm being my own worst enemy, causing myself to fear irrationally on what will happen when I try to go cold turkey on viewing it, including Source Filmmaker and the like. What will people think of me? What will people do in response? The last thing I want is a falling out with anyone who knows me and when they find out I'm going cold turkey on porn, then what? I know these fears are completely and utterly unsubstantiated, but I still think on what they'll say. What I need to do is focus on more wholesome activities, such as taking RAW photos and editing them in Photoshop, and since I love taking pics of foxes and other adorable animals, I think it's a great whole activity. Photography brings many people, myself included, a lot of joy, Speaking of photos, I want to apologize for not keeping my fox thread up to date, I've been meaning to and I will try to keep it up to day, so, I apologize for that. Um I know I must sound pathetic, and I just don't know how else to word this, I hate this feeling, I hate the literal hell I'm in, this torment. I want to be free from this once and for all, and the first step is admitting I have an issue, the second being removing SFM and all pornographic materials from my PC, saving me countless GB's of space. I just want to thank you for all your support so far, I know I haven't been a good member and have been a pain in many members' side, but still, thank you.

That said, I feel that, porn aside, I could be doing things more productive than viewing it and uh jacking off. Not that I have anything against those who do, i.e. my photo idea, and sharing my experiences with others with the foxes and other cute animals I play with. And maybe I'm overthinking it, I don't know, I'm really racking my brain trying to figure out myself and what makes me tick, what triggers my anxiety, you know? Of course, I'll avoid that reddit/subreddit group, as it sounds quite toxic.

@Quantumcat, I don't know, there have been people I've inadvertently hurt in the past, and while some people are aware of my unhealthy obsession, they aren't judging me but are understanding. I'm glad the people here are too.

For now try JOing without porn and see if it helps. Personally I go back to porn eventually but it seems to work for at least a few days.

Unless your "addiction" interferes with your normal life. you shouldn't pay too much attention to it.

Go take one photo today and share it with us.

Do as many push ups as you can, then tomorrow add one to that number.

I said this last time you posted a blog about this, even though it feels impossible to start, exercise is one of the best things you can do

Anyone who hates you for giving up an addiction to Porn, is very ignorant. It's a good thing that people do, and God wants people to so that's really big, and the fact that it messes with the mind in a negative way shows it's bad and it's one of the reasons God doesn't want people looking at it, and I'm sure everyone knows arousal is the main reason for it, and that comes from Sexual Fantasy, that's got to stop, I'm pretty sure it effects a lot of guys and some can't get it under control (I wrestle with that too), just don't give up, I'm praying for you! Also I agree with Milenko.

Anyone else have a hard time deciding if Fates is a ridiculous religion-themed troll or just a product of abusive extremist religion?

I'm really torn

@fates-blades-900 I am glad to hear that you are a man of faith, unfortunately it seems that GBAtemp has a strong atheist population and you may get trolled for voicing those opinions on here. I do however admire your bravery.

Update: I'm on the mend, started taking anti-anxiety meds and going to the gym again, which has been helping a lot actually. People, esp, my parents have been moral support and also been helping. Going to be starting a very good paying job in a little more than a week, so things are looking up :)

Just remember to never give up.

And also @Hells Malice there's literally nothing extreme about believing in God. It’s something natural that us humans feel a need to do. And funny enough, we all acknowledge there is some kind of external power affecting our lives (i.e karma). Do whatever you need to do to be happy @Fates-Blade-900

@aykay55 Forgive me for sounding a bit critical, but that sounds like the "Do what feels good" crap that people who don't believe in God often say. One should do what's right, not what simply makes them happy. Belief in God is right, and it's not always a happy-feel-good trip.

A human will naturally seek food, water, shelter, some aspect of clothing, and even the most primitive tribes have a few more traits.

Belief in the Judeo-Christian-Muslim (if necessary delete as appropriate) god is not however one of them, and neither is a deity belief in general. Nobody spontaneous believes it in or learns of it, and even then most psychologists, sociologists and religious scholars will tend to note people need refreshing on the concept or at least it being hammered home while young or otherwise vulnerable.

As for extreme the poster in question seems to be railing on porn and spouting what is fairly typical US religious based anti porn rhetoric (I am having trouble here determining the particular flavour as it has not hit any of the key terms I normally use to narrow it, though the bit of psychobabble crosses a few off the list), one far removed from the popular versions of US Christianity. Not to mention it starts from a premise of people here dismissing the struggles of the OP which I did not see anybody do and starting with a misread like that is usually a sign of someone doing the foaming at the mouth, fire and brimstone bit, with the "god does not want" stuff somewhat sealing the deal there.

@the_randomizer A job is what will take a world of boredom and turn it upside down. Believe me, as someone who was in college a couple of years ago, I got my associate's, and decided to get some work experience because I remember reading about some horror stories online about people who went into a deep amount of debt for college and were stuck as waiters/waitresses because they didn't have any work experience that would make them a valuable hire, or they went into a field that has a low supply of jobs, or took something like "Studies in SJW" (everything that's associated with the term Lesbian Dance Theory. I know, not the best example, but I'm not exactly sure what else to call these degrees) and thought that they'd get a job fixing all of the supposed "inequalities" in the US as opposed to the ones in, say, the Middle East or Africa or *insert non-developed country here*. I've been working for three years, and while I've been looking to find another job that will pay more for my time so I can get out of some student loan debt and focus on moving out of my parents' house (and out of CommIllinois in general before it gets too expensive to live here), the fact is that my life has improved tremendously as I tend to be a very materialistic guy, for better or for worse.

One of these days, porn, hentai, rule 34 in general won't even be on your mind. I don't know what your life goals are, but if they include finding a girlfriend, know that as long as you're a gentleman, you talk to them, and know to be wary of certain situations and the like, you should be fine. I haven't quite been married yet, but I've had a few attempts at trying to find a few girlfriends, and the rejection, be it subtle or blunt, isn't as bad as your mind makes it out to be. Just be yourself. There isn't some magic trick like some on r/theredpill or related subreddits and communities online tried to push before some of them got banned or quarantined or whatever the fuck happened to them.

I agree with @Silent_Gunner, at least in my experience, obsessing over pr0n is something that takes over your mind only when you're idle, or perceive other things that need doing as having less import than getting one off. Getting some kind of responsibility, having something that you can do for long periods of time without getting fatigued, or to be blunt doing something to make money; all of these things should help your situation

People, these comments really aren't helping... Randomizer needs support, not just instructions on what to do. A little empathy (and perhaps some sympathy) goes with it.

Alot of people on GBAtemp became athiest because they are angry at the world and feel like god can't be real if they have such shitty lives. Hence why there are so many pseudo-intellectuals here that think they have life all figured out even though they have accomplished little to nothing with their lives. Just take a look at the GBAtemp thread where people post their picture and you will quickly see the type of person you are arguing with on here.

@Silent_Gunner while what you say is true about r/athiesm, this is a gameboy forum that is highly politically charged to an uncomfortable degree. There is a gay pride banner people get when they donate and GBAtemp is politicized to disgusting levels.

@Maluma. And then there are those of us that think the Bible and the Christian god is bullshit. I believe there's something else, bigger than us, out there, but there are far too many silly and clearly-fake things in the Bible, that if you're going based on "the word", then you're going based off of ignorance and based off of clear closed-mindedness and blind-following. I think the tone in which you're using to assume that's the reason as to why people are atheists, is not only condescending, but a very bold and baseless assumption.
