Jailbreaking spree

Welp I'm officially insane /s

I found my iPod Touch 4th Generation and my dad gave me his old iPhone 4. He wants me to jailbreak his phone and I want to jailbreak my old iPod. This is the 2nd and 3rd device I hacked this month. Anyways, I find jailbreaking iOS devices fun because it can be one click, or it can be millions of required files.

"@wormdood Yes-ish. iPhones usually become slow because it's on a newer operating system. If kept on the original OS (iPhone 7 on iOS 10) with normal use, it could last years with no problems at all."

you dont see apps using the newer versions of the sdk and dropping old ios version support as a problem . . . and define years? as in so long you need to update because of what i said then end up in the same "slow" boat . . . ?

@wormdood I was speaking in terms of OS performance. And I meant years as 5-7 years.

@Dionicio3 If you don't wan't to listen, go ahead and jailbreak, why should I care. You're talking to someone who has lots of experience in iOS. I was just trying to help you but if you think what I'm saying is crap then go ahead and jailbreak.

I'm not speaking in terms of just jailbreaking. And by the way, I haven't bricked any iPhone while jailbreaking - ever. Also, iOS devices don't necessarily brick.

Well, you said you couldn't use the phone anymore, which makes it about as useful as a brick, so yeah, its a brick

I didn't say that. My iPhone just has the mark so I can't run a bunch of apps from the App Store, and have updated it because there was nothing to do with the jailbreak once I got it. It's kind of like the Wii U. It was fun hacking it before but now it's boring because you can't do anything new with it anymore.

@Dionicio3 Because old gets boring and whatever bugs were left will never get fixed.

then you can easily know what buggy programs to avoid #making half of your points invalid

@wormdood Therefore minimizing your already small selection of available tweaks for jailbreaking. And no tweak is 100% bug free.

@aykay55 "My iPhone just has the mark so I can't run a bunch of apps from the App Store..."
Which is easily fixed by restoring with an IPSW. Sure, you'll lose some of your data, but most apps store everything on the cloud by now, and what you can't get back, you are able to retrieve with an iCloud backup. iTunes backups don't work, because they store the file that says your device has a jailbreak (or had, in this case).

My dad gave me his iPhone 6 very recently (he got a 7), and he always updated......
Now I'm stuck with an iOS 11.0.2 device and waiting for a jailbreak :(
I owned A LOT of apple devices in the 15 years I live', and jailbroken everyone of them, and suddenly I'm here, with a stock device, oh well, I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 with resurrection remix custom ROM for now....... :/

Heh, good luck getting a jailbreak for that. My family always asks me if they should update, and most of the time I say "no"

Tell me about that, I told my dad like infinity times NOT TO UPDATE, and when he gave me the phone he said he updated AT THE SAME FUCKING DAY because he thought I'll be happy.
