you are born, you do nothing and care a shit about it, then have to study for 12 years and if you repeat the year you have to study more, then you have to study 6 years more + 10 years if you want "more chances to get a job", marriage, divorce, retire and die. school is forced by the law so you have to study for 12 years even if you don't want to. parents the only thing that they want you to do for life is to STUDY.

Try to live your own best life if you can, don't focus yourself on other people's.

Very mature observations, OP.

All I'll say is, you seem to be spending a whole lot of time focusing on the 12 years you are being "forced to study", and not very much time considering the 60-70 years of living with the consequences of what you did during those 12 years.

It looks like you're in the US, which means that when you're done with your initial studies and graduate high school you have the choice to pursue further education or not. Don't let anyone pressure you into going into higher education if you don't feel like it. There are plenty of people that make life work out just fine without a higher education.
I never pursued college, I pursued music against my parents wishes and while it took a long time to get my foot in the door, I have been doing pretty well for myself. You can make it in this world not doing something you completely hate. It's up to you, if you want to live a lifestyle with stability and solid well paying job, well then, yeah, maybe college is the way to go, but if you don't want to go to college and/or have a passion you want to pursue then I say go for that instead.

Make what you can out of the life you have now. I don't know how old you are, OP, but it seems like you're still in some type of education. Those years of "studying" you speak of may eventually pay up, and if they don't, you lived through it and you learned something. Maybe not what you hoped for, but at least you have the life experience under your belt to not make the same mistake again.

I early-graduated high school to get a headstart in computer trades. Will I regret my decision and career choice eventually? Maybe, but only time will tell now. Is it something that I want to pursue at this waking moment? Absolutely. I call these types of choices "good risks" because, in one way or another, the consequences aren't as painful as a "bad risk" (i.e. drugs, violent crime, and the like).

So, with that being said, those 12 years and beyond have crevices for taking choices and opportunities to make life not as "boring" as you described. There's going to be the good, the bad, and the ugly at some point in between. But for now, take one step at a time and just breathe. You're here on this earth to do what you want, and nobody's going to take it from you if you choose to not let it happen.

I have no problems with studying. It's what I like to do. That's how we grow. I'm also not afraid of death. I can understand your perspective. I've been treated like shit in many facets of my life, so I don't care about getting older. As pink Floyd would say, one year closer to death, with each year. :)

Like...don't you cheat? I literally read the rules and found a way to graduate a four-year school in three, with distinguished honors.
RTFM. Sacrifice to the game Djinni.
Besides, if life is boring, play on hard mode--you ain't black enough.

The studying doesn't have to be boring, college was some of the best years of my life

Now medical school, residency, fellowship (ugh)

Do yourself a favor and do engineering or comp sci if you go to college and get a good job right out of undergrad - don't mess with grad school because that's where the fun stops

Realised this shit when I was 18-20. Did 15 years-ish of partying. Zero regrets, met a shit ton of great people and had some blinding times. Then I settled down (felt it was time to), 3 kids, mortgage, divorce and now I'm looking to doing hard partying round 2. Had no mither back then and had far less money than I do now. Nobody gets out of life alive, so make the most of it in whatever way brings you joy. Remember, there's no pockets in shrouds. Can't take your pennies with you

After you graduate from high school and you go to college, just when you start living life, that's when everything starts to slowly go down the shitter. And pressure, anxiety & self-doubt will be your new buddies.. so if you're still in high school, just you wait, 'cause after graduating every wrong decision you take in your life will come to bite you in the ass, feeding that self-doubt (wondering if you took the right path/choice) and you'd be as aimless as ever..

In my opinion, as someone who didn't pay much attention in school because I was told I was stupid, and I couldn't afford food most days so I was too hungry to focus for half of the day, the important thing to do is figure out what you want to do with your life and find out what the grade requirements are to do it.

For me that was Computer Science, I figured it out too late and had to waste 2 years of my life course correcting (hence the name). It wasn't that bad compared to the alternative of working a minimum wage job at a store, but it's something you don't want to do it you can help it.

Once you figure out what you want to do for the 80% of your life that you're not going to spend in a classroom, find out what you need to study to get there. If you want to design cars / aircraft you'll have to take an Engineering / Physics / Aerospace degree. Want to work with AI or robotics? Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science. Want to be a doctor? Study Biology / Chemistry. There are often multiple different degrees that will land you the same job.

Once you've chosen a degree, you'll need the high school grades to get in. Most universities have the grade requirements on their website (at least in the UK) but if you can't find them email them. I did that a few times and I always got helpful replies with the entry requirements along with some other helpful advice. You'll usually only have to get good grades in 3 or 4 subjects. A law school isn't going to care if you got bad grades in chemistry and an engineering school isn't going to care if you got bad grades in geography. As long as you have good grades in the relevant subjects.

It's better to aim for the best university available even if you know you won't get in than it is to aim for one that's achievable. Worst case scenario you end up at that achievable university anyway. Best case scenario you surprise yourself and get into Harvard. More often than not you land somewhere in between which is way better than you were expecting but not the top tier.

For me life has been a lot better since leaving high school. I get to focus on studying what I enjoy studying, I have way more free time, and if I feel like taking a day off I can just do that as long as I don't mind a hit to my grades. People in university aren't dickheads either, which most of the people in my high school were. It's worth it IMO. Just keep your eye on the prize.

The Maths Sorcerer on YouTube has a bunch of good advice on this topic. He's answered questions from a bunch of different people doing various things with their life.
