The U.S. wouldn’t “just watch”
True, given our history there's no way we'd allow that kind of national security threat to manifest itself at our border, the bombs would be ready to drop before the papers were even signed. A mini-confederacy would not take long to neutralize.

Moreover, out of all the states out there, Texas probably has the highest chance of being self-sufficient - Texas in the no.1 exporter among all the states, and again, it’s not close.

They’d still be making bank in isolation, and they certainly wouldn’t starve - the state has highly developed agriculture. On the flip side, you’d be weeping at the pump.
How do figure everything would be business as usual in that sense? Most of the companies that operate in Texas aren't even headquartered there, they'd be subject to both tariffs and sanctions, and that's all assuming there would be anybody left willing to buy their exports in the first place.

You also haven't addressed their potential strength of security or competence of government, which are two of the most important factors in the longevity of a nation. Footage of Uvalde police trying to fight off the cartel would have to be set to Benny Hill music, and Greg Abbott makes GWB look like he belongs in Mensa. I stand by my estimate of an independent Texas lasting two weeks, and that's probably being overly generous.

X state trying to break away from the US is just a meme at this point. Sometimes it'll be Texas, sometimes California, sometimes Georgia. It's never going to happen in any of our life times. Québec and Alberta breaking away from Canada is more realistic.

This is even more imaginary than the idea Texas is actually going to secede.

The reason why I think that is because Texas is a border state. Any tariffs leveraged against Texas could be leveraged right back against the U.S., so the situation would just devolve into a trade war that benefits neither party.

Texas would be perfectly fine. Part of the reason why border security in Texas is lacking is because of federal regulation, it wouldn’t be an episode of Benny Hill - I suspect that the situation would escalate well beyond your imagination. Texas would be perfectly fine, but secession would definitely cause chaos and economic disruption in the short term, which is not desirable. The proposition is a non-starter, but not for the reasons you’re listing.

The reasoning behind their desire to secede is equaled in stupidity only by the reasoning for the the Civil War, certainly. As we've established, however, it's all performative bullshit.

Still plenty more border to be utilized or built over if need be (hypothetically).

Lol nah, sadly not that hard to imagine the good ol' boys treating unarmed migrants like a turkey shoot and then getting deleted by the actual cartels when they show up.

Pesky regulations, Texans just want to go back to the days of shooting each other over a game of Poker.

Yes, they currently pay some federal taxes (red states take more from the fed than contribute FYI) so because of this they are currently paying for those services such as military and disaster relief.

They wouldn't be entitled this this if they left. That's like whining that you can't watch Netflix anymore after cancelling a subscription.

If you're treating WMDs as court divorce items that's a laughable comparison for one, but entertaining this argument they'd be entitled to 1/50th of the stockpile at most
#1 what i said was a joke. Second i call bull shit on red states taking more from the feds than blue states. You want to mention some bull shit like that lets see some actual real sorces and numbers not arbitrarily statement taken out of your head. On that make sure we subtract what the citizans of the states pay into federal taxes and add the amount of government substances the people get in that state. Now im waiting for you to prove that statement.

Yeah, the Declaration Lists Reasons for the American People to take back the Government......none of which says because your Candidate Lost, and because of their BS Lies of "Election Fraud!". If there was, please, do show absolute, undeniable, Proof. We will all wait. Because if there was, good luck Proving it, and showing that Proof.

Yeah, no. The only time the government was attacked recently, was not to end tyranny, but to help it instead.
A quick reminder that strong disagreements in regards to legislation used to be solved by dueling. I don’t know where this weird reverence towards DC comes from, but it is misplaced.

Neither the sight you posted (yahoo of all places great source) or the sights source show any real numbers or how they got them, what the money went to (food stamps, government handouts, government buildings, or even military base spending) however it does state texas is on the least dependent side. I asked for actual proof not someones made up theorys and half ass excuse to make it sound like that is the case. Also lets take out the blue citys numbers in the red states actual totals if we really want to start splitting hairs. Hell we can take the red citys out of your blue states...i will wait for an actual factual source on any of it.

So apparently Texas wants to be a Independent Nation. This has come up so many times, with other States. Look what became of those attempts. LOL

TexasExit would make a very interesting movie. Texas becomes the number one common enemy for USA instead of China. A highly armed and trigger happy nation in the heart of America must be contained! Also the solution to Ukraine war, since USA gone weaker and gone home no more need to have war and finally peace talk follows and peace until USA concur and annex Texas! Will any nation object to Texas being annexed by USA? What would united nation say about it?

Will Chad Stahelski direct this movie?

I'll gladly help rig the border of texas to blow, and wave as it floats away into the ocean.

Sorry that you lack basic reading comprehension or an understanding of numbers. The sources are still there.
