Hi Guys. I'm attaching my first Picofly Tiny mod to switch Oled, expose the DATO point using the Kamikaze method.
The tool used for drilling is MaAnt D1
I put the mosfet on the back of the motherboard.
I also put the SDA and SCL wires for a more stable glitch.
Everything went well without any particular problems. You just need to be careful and be sure of your hand.
Nice work.
Where did you get the wiring diagram? I've only installed Chinese chips like the Instinct where you don't need to solder as many wires in (using the flex cables instead). I'd be interested to know what all those connections are for and where they are soldered on the board.
Nevermind, I found the Picofly guide (https://gbatemp.net/download/a-definitive-picofly-install-guide.37968/)

What is the best method for installing the RP2040 tiny? I don’t think I’m experienced enough or comfortable with doing the kamikaze method, so I’m just wondering if there’s anyway to solder directly to the solder points on the motherboard. Also, what is the chance of me breaking my switch by doing this?
I've done the OLED install using the dat0 adapter 3 times so far. All 3 times worked, BUT my first was very close to failure. Soldering skill is not enough, it requires micro-soldering using a scope. Be sure careful.

Now i can mod oled without taking the mainboard off the chassis using kamikaze method. Thank you.

Just be sure to clean the grinded copper dust properly and isolate any small connectors like the sd/cartrige pcb and the lcd display with some tapes.

Happened to me once and shorted a connection on the lcd display connector after playing for awhile, suddenly the touch screen is not working anymore. So i had to open again and clean it. Got me confused initially as to what's causing the problem even changed some components and not working. Then upon inspection i checked the lcd connector and it has grinded copper dust inside. 🤣

Hi,

When I Install a RP2040 based picofly to V1 (erista), switch glitches up in 1 to 3 sec
Erista is more like 15 to 45 sec.

I use fw 2.73

Is there something to check for this issue ?

Thanks a lot !

Thank you deeps.
You can use the "normal" point on the CPU, it works even without the caps, you just need to solder the flex to the caps points even without the capacitor (if you are using the flex), the flex that I used had solder points on both sides, so it was relatively easy to solder even without the capacitor.

Thanks for the reply but the pads are completely ripped off. This switch that came has all shorts of vandalism.
clk via completely gone.. need to reball and reconstruct the clk point under the emmc
lcd connector shorted with damaged pins.. need to change the connector
apu pads ripped off..
And who else knows what down the road..

The sthetix youtube video on the kamikaze method suggests using some flux in the area while drilling to 'catch' the copper dust.

I did but there are instances that during brushing and cleaning some of the bits fly off, so yea an extra safety measure doesn't hurt. 🤝
