Which year do you think the first version (3DS or Wii U) of SSB4 will come out?

Well, I can always be optimistic. I like the class SSB's formula and if they deviate from that this game will suck. I'm down with Nintendo spending more time on this game if it means a better product in the end. Remember, Nintendo doesn't have patching for Wii games, except for a few games, and their games seem to lack the flaws that other platforms have almost always. Plus, with patching coming to the WiiU (hopefully), Nintendo will be able to fix mistakes via patches.
I don't think they'll deviate from the core Smash Bros formula, but they'll be adding enough to it so that it's a truly new iteration. I mean, Brawl packed in a lot of new stuff, but at its core, it was really just Melee 2.0. Compare that to the changes between 64 and Melee, which were HUGE. Melee was pretty much an entirely different game compared to 64.

And please, no... I'm all for patching games, I think it's a good thing, but I do NOT want Nintendo to take the same path so many other companies have and be all, "hey, let's just release the unfinished beta product for $60, wait for customers to complain, and THEN fix it!" Idk if that's what you're saying, but yeah. Knowing Nintendo's perfectionist attitude (and Sakurai's even MORE perfectionist attitude), I highly doubt they'll do that anyway.

Opinions?
The video itself is whatever, but I really like the remix involved.

I love Nintendo's perfectionist attitude when it comes to game making, but patching wont hurt the game :P...at least I hope not :wtf: Companies should make a finished product, release it, and fix any bugs in a complete product instead of what they do now.

Oh, I agree. I'm just saying I'm against the idea of releasing an unfinished product to be fixed with patches, just to get it out "faster".

Ugh. I'm getting sick of GBATemp by the minute. No offense. And it isn't about this thread. Anybody want to take over if I leave? *waits for Gahar's snappy reply*

I can understand your irritation, but it's probably not in your best interest to say that. I know it wasn't your intention, but people are going to take offense when you say that, which leads to drama from smaller people, as it did here. Simply saying "I'm leaving for personal reasons, can someone please take over?" would have sufficed.

I'm leaving for personal reasons, can someone please take over? :P

What can we take over, all we have is rumors about the game...

As you say ,rumors, as well as the slight news we get and polls. :P

Can't we all just get along. This thread has been doing well so far.

so what if it is namco bandai that is going to work to make this game
Namco has a terrible rep when it comes to fighting games, but awesome when it comes to online and they worked with Nintendo in Star Fox Assault (which IMO, is the best in the series and is known for its great multiplayer) so people have mixed feelings about it..

I thought I was the only person in the world who liked this game. Of all the Star Fox games I've played (SNES, 64, Assault, and Command), Assault was my favorite, for sure!

What do you think about this idea?
This is actually really cool. I think a particularly great idea though would be a 4 player game, 2 playing as characters with pro controllers, and 2 controlling the items with Upads. one player and one "item dropper" will be on a team, and while the main player fighters, the "item dropper" could aim the Upad at the screen, and drop from a random assorted set of items near the player on their team

I thought we came to an agreement way back in this thread that I loved the game too? D:
On topic, if you still need someone to take over, I shall watch over the thread for you.
