CAT-R's are more similar to retail units yes you're correct there, but a kernel exploit for a retail unit still wouldn't run correctly on a CAT-R without rewriting it...

If that's actually true, why even bother with an exploit in the first place. You don't need it to run that kind of stuff on the dev kits.... Also publicly stating that you did any sort of "reverse engineering" using a dev kit is a huge violation of the NDA, so I hope either you're smart enough to edit your post and that you never signed on and got your kits through "other means."

This coming from someone who has broken the NDA themselves a couple times I've noticed. They (Devkits) aren't super hard to come by in the wild.

It is piracy but this is a demo were talking about.

Its like breaking into someone's home, not taking any money, jewelry, or other valuable and only run off with a toilet seat. Its wrong but its also not as big of a deal.

Oh wait, it sure did increase traffic to the site for ad revenue, sorry, I understand.

I think some of us weren't taking it particularly seriously.... hence the silly images and what-not. Even when it became evident that somebody might actually be attempting it, it quickly became apparent the whole thing wasn't being carried out by a master criminal and would fail.

My final words on this thread before it inevitably gets locked is:
1) if you saw the lines ,there were too many people there to pull things over on. You were not gonna have an hour or 2 to dump shit.
2) They were tweeting about a crime happening in progress in "real time". (just begging to get caught)
3) Most importantly, it took them 2 days to realize they did not have access to an sd card slot.

So with that in mind, later tonight I will be driving by Fort Knox. So, if the vault is open and the guards are not looking and there is no sd card slot holding me back, I may just take sumthin'. I just sayin' don't be too surprised if you see something tomorrow in da newz.

Anyway, thread closed since this won't ever go anywhere - after so many days it's clear that this was either physically impossible to do considering the time and security constraints or that they never had access to the Demo card in the first place and were just looking for some quick Twitter fame.
