Ugh. I feel like this is brought up every single time one of these topics rolls around. Let's clear some things up about the Dreamcast, shall we?

1. The Dreamcast actually has one of the strongest forms of copy protection, due to games being on a proprietary disk format called GD-ROM. You can't rip a Dreamcast game by plopping it directly into your computer, and more importantly, you just can't replicate a GD-ROM disk today. The Dreamcast can tell when a disk has been burned, and won't read the replicated, burnt sectors. The only reason games are able to be easily played is due to the Dreamcast's capability of playing MIL-CDs (some weird karaoke disk format), and an exploit being found in the handling of MIL-CDs that allowed for booting programs from burnt CDs.
2. The Dreamcast didn't fail because of piracy and game burning. It failed thanks to SEGA's previous blunders, as well as the Playstation 2 mostly overshadowing it.

These releases were dumped through the pegaswitch exploit (first entrypoint) and additionally a few unreleased exploits that the ReSwitched team and switchbrew team both discovered for dumping the romFS. As for WHO exactly within these teams leaked the exploits / method used, I'm pointing my finger to Normmatt, who is part of the ReSwitched team. I'm not sure if they knew this was going to happen with one of their members or if the whole "we don't condone piracy stance" is just a facade

Obviously you haven't been following ReSwitched. Their exploits are locked tight. They could have been the ones to send the ROMs to BigBlueBox

I completely agree. However, the Switch has great emulator potential with it's beautiful screen and portability.

But yeah, I want the same amount of homebrew we had back in the DS days.
