I know I do have my own sources within the field and do use FTP and I have no knowledge yet of any Switch dumps coming through as yet

Really private? Not likely. You are either a releaser, hoster or racer (or a tool for paying for access). Nothing new, nor anything fantastic. I used to be part of that sandbox myself like 10-15 years ago, and couldn't never be happier of be out.

Remember folks! We don't know for 100% sure these dumps will work once a public way of running them shows up. They might be missing that little something, yet this is the normal step once the first dumps comes out.

I'd like to see the first 4K or so of one of these dumps so I can add preliminary support to `file` and rom-properties.

...though it does mention that it's not a full cartridge dump; it's a dump of the individual RomFS and ExeFS sections, which seems to indicate that they don't have full cartridge access yet.

Also, some pure speculation: 3dbrew shows (3)DS cartridges have 17 pins. Switchbrew shows that Switch cartridges have 16 pins. Since Switch cartridges don't have save memory, and one of the pins on (3)DS cards is used to switch between ROM and save memory, perhaps the Switch cartridge protocol is based on the 3DS protocol. This might make it somewhat easier to build a custom dumper.

Reminder that Vita dumps existed years before the thing ever got hacked.

And 3DS games were dumped over a year before any exploits went public. But I still feel like the piracy kiddies are incoming, just like they did with 3DS and Vita

Because competing groups (I was a releaser) tried to dox you everytime they didn't like something you did. Like winning a release over them and they sought out to dox me or any of my team members. They tried several times and each time they failed to connect to me. Why they did this was because they were unopposed and suddenly a team that actually was better than them and faster, they got pissy.
