Underground scene piracy group known as BigBlueBox are at it again, this time releasing a further 2 master keys for use with the Nintendo Switch.[prebreak]1[/prebreak]
In their latest Switch game cartridge dump, the group have now revealed the master_key_01 and master_key_02 key strings (only the 00 key was available up until now).

"this will allow you to decrypt all your dumpable NCA files as well as our currently released games so far apart from Bayonetta2 as thats master_key_03"

It's worth noting that these keys can be used to decrypt .NCA files, the same week a Switch game cart dumper was released.

At the time of writing it is still impossible to run ripped Switch game cartridge files, but after this week, and a year of Switch hacks - it looks like we are closer than ever to seeing retail games running on hacked Switch systems.

I think bruteforce would have taken a hundred trillion years or so, so either a exploit, or leaked from someone at Nintendo.

Not brute-force (or at least, not obtaining solely via brute-force) for sure, and very unlikely to be from a Nintendo employee (as they'd take it too damn seriously and someone could be in jail by now). I remembered once a Sharp engineer leak the firmware key for 3rd-party group for phone unlocking service, the company just fired the whole team as no one admitted the leak. The company told their successors it would do it again if leaks happened, and the software solution for unlocking Japanese Sharp phone stopped for quite a while. An exploit is very likely, especially current revision of hw seems to have unpatchable vulnerabilities.

Its alot easier infact to get these new eShop .NSP releases being 'warez'ed' now by BBB then the older .XCI retail game cartridgers, as with .NSP you just need patches, and CFW, no custom backup loader to trick the retail cartridges to load from microsd slot or OTG USB-C hdd.

I've no knowledge of how game update or DLC works, but seems a way to convert XCI to NSP would be a better solution as how 3DS homebrew works today. And not every title has physical releases.

Yes, something similar to 3DS to CIA converter tools will be nice, and with 'leaked' master keys and now the matching 'package keys' it should be possible to build up a tool like this expanding on HACtool and XCIreader, once this NSP format is understood more, and I am sure by the time CFW gets around closer to release we will see any other missing keys needed to assemble these convert/packages in either format.

Where can I throw my money now for them? .

Anyway I will wait for CFW 1st and wait until TX chip comes out, then wait a bit longer to see if ppls Switches start to die, then if the TX has way better features than CFW I would go with it, but only later until its really massively tested by the comunity. BTW my RGH X360 Falcon still works like a charm and never heats up since its full of custom cooling mods made by me... I will do the same on my Switch.

And even though I barely have any money I would like to donate to SciresM when he release the CFW for my 3.02 Switch, hell, I dont use my PC for a month, dont use my PS4 for half a year and Im going nuts by the SWITCH even though I dont use it much either as I only have Zelda and won't update, neither I have money for other game


And those nintendo keys keep coming out like hot bread jeez lool, I wonder when someone will actually leak the true master key for signing content, but that would kill nintendo Switch, at least temporarily. I'm sure no matter what good games will keep selling a lot on nintendo handheld platform...
