Can this be used in conjunction with other adapters to get wired Dualshock 2 or other controllers to work on the switch?
Also can it work through a sub hub?

I just tried my Dualshock 2 with mayflash adapter hooked to Magic-ns in xinput mode on my pc and doesn't work. i don't have a switch yet, sorry.

Edit: I tried every mayflash adapter i have, and none of them works... sega saturn, sega dreamcast, nintendo gamecube, dualshock 2, nintendo 64, and even the dolphin bar adapter... nothing (at least on pc in xinput mode, but i think in switch mode should be the same). :(

Try in the switch mode (red mode). At least on my Linux box, it is the only mode that is detected by evdev.

i've updated the adapter to the latest version, synced my wii u pro controller to the purple switch pro mode, but the controller doesnt work. i tried it with my ps4 controller and same issue. it does work on the red mode. i wanted to get the vibration. did anyone else have the same issue?

From what I have figured out, the purple mode is still in development. It works on my xbox one s controller, but it isn't exact. Maybe it has something to do with the HD rumble stuff. I don't believe the Wii u pro controller has a vibrate function. I could be wrong on that though. Personally I use the red mode more as all the games that support the pro controller so far seem to use the vibration more as a gimmick than anything else.

i messaged mayflash and this is their response below. i tested it out and it works. note that when turning this on, it will give you a message indicating that the NFC touchpoint on the pro controller will be disabled while the controller is using wired communication. since the wii u pro controller/ps3/ps4 controller doesn't have an NFC touchpoint on their controller, it won't matter if you turn this on. i tested it on the switch pro controller and the NFC function still works.

Mayflash response:

To make sure the system can identify the adapter easily at Purple mode, please turn on the “Pro Controller Wired Communication” of the Nintendo Switch system once you switch the adapter to the Switch Pro mode (the LED indicator is purple).
Tips: System Settings - Controllers and Sensors - Pro Controller Wired Communication – ON

I haven't read all six pages, so sorry if this question has already been answered. I want to use two Wii U Pro Controllers with my Switch. Can I use two of these adapters at the same time with one controller connected to each? And can I still use both Joy-Cons? I have two Wii U Pro Controllers and the basic Joy-Cons that came with my Switch, so I'd like to combine them to play four player Mario Kart.

Yes you can use two adapters connected to the dock and the joycons at the same time

Thanks dude! Just ordered two from Amazon. Do you need a USB hub or can you connect both to the dock? (I’m not home, so can’t check my Switch dock).

So there are three USB ports you can go with.

If you use the one on the back it kind of covers the heat vent? Not sure if it matters.

If you use the two on the side It's a tight fit for two. it technically works but I don't feel comfortable recommending it.

I use a old unpowered targus usb hub that was lying around and have three mayflash ns adapters connected

One thing I’m gonna do differently is use USB extension cable for the Mayflash adapters. I don’t have a hub, and I’m hoping that using USB extensions will allow me to connect both adapters to the switch dock at the same time without needing a hub. We’ll see!

I'm trying the pro mode with my dualshock 4 in Odyssey and it seems like if I turn motion controls off it's still active if I turn rumble on. And the rumble is so strong it constantly activates motion controls...which also seems supersensitive to begin with.

I reported this to mayflash yesterday but still no response... the same thing is happening to me, hope they fix it soon!!

I'll still take DS4 over the joycons any day. It's not a big deal about the moons that you can find with the rumble feature, you can get the hints later anyways. I'll be using my DS4 on my switch until the next console comes along. I came across the cheep cheep's now and you can control them like you see in the trailers. The problem with using the DS4 is you use motion controls to attack with the fish...and I can't activate motion controls because it literally is out of control. That sucks a bit.

Does it support motion controls and rumble? Can I play Odyssey without motion controls and with rumble? Cause I really want to use my wired Xbox one controller with that.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
