HONESTLY can't access to Eshop is really annoying and i really wish to get Xenoblade 2's season pass and Golf story(a switc's exclusive).
What's the problem here?

Update your switch to latest version -> Access eShop -> Buy Games -> Have fun

You won't loose that much. Only a software entrypoint ...

don't worry, even with CFW i still support game devs :) this also reminds me a very popular spot slogan:

Running retroarch on Switch is PRICELESS, for everything else, there's mastercard!

I think as long as your sysNAND is untouched and you don't forget to remove your CFW-emuNAND SD card before booting into sysNAND/unmodified Horizon, you are 100% safe.
If the exploit is installed to the console (B9S/A9LH style) then removing the SD card won't remove CFW from your console. That will only work if it is browserhax style.

@Quantumcat : Do you have knowledge if loaders/hooks for atmosphere will be installed "in that style" (sematics :) ).
Also, do we have educated guesses/data - if N could identify those fragments (- from within their OS layer, which they can still change)?

edit: Ah I see -Its an ongoing discussion. :)

The current exploit doesn't leave any traces. It is loaded to system RAM far before the Horizon OS loads.
That's the reason why it is an tethered exploit. It won't get stored on your device.

We might see some kind of coldboot exploit in the future.
That would make launching easier, but as a downside it might be detected by nintendo.

That was my understanding as well. :) If things should change.... Please communicate it clearly. ;) (not directed at anyone in particular.) :)

Yes, i thought the same.

Keep emunand offline and your (online-)sysnand untouched.
Then Nintendo won't ever detect that your console has homebrew access.

Doesn't Nintendo detect if the 3DS is hacked every time you play online or access the eShop even using CFW? Every time I do I get DLC erased. I can't be the only one.

Yes! It is very easy for them to detect.
I don't know why they didn't ban everyone with cfw and users playing content without legit license.

But what we're talking about here is:
Keeping cfw offline, and only using stock fw (non cfw) for online services.

I see, so people are using the official FW and CFW on the same console? I didn't know that that was possible, I thought that you'd need two different consoles.

It is not possible yet.
But atmosphere will introduce emunand functionality.

That way you can keep the official FW clean (on Switch's eMMC) and a modified copy (CFW) on sdcard

None of this really explains how an emuNAND would help.

If Atmosphere were an entire modified firmware that gets installed to the system like, say, REBUG then it would make sense. The emuNAND would contain the entire Atmosphere firmware environment.

It seems more likely however that it will work similar to the current hekate, Luma, HENkaku etc. where it is essentially a series of patches applied to the stock firmware. If this is the case, then booting into a non-CFW environment would be enough. You'd be hypothetically banned regardless of if you're using sysNAND or emuNAND.

So will Atmosphere allow us to access the eShop and play on Nintendo's servers on the official FW and also run CFW separately? How does it work, you choose to boot FW or CFW when you turn on the console?

That wouldn’t need to be explicitly implemented. If you don’t trigger RCM mode, you’ll be in stock FW.

The emunand is a full copy of the sysnand.
All patching occures there on sdcard. The eMMC won't get touched during that process.
Therefore there won't be any trace on sysnand.

Remember to keep your device offline while in CFW!

For Online Usage:
- Power down your device
- Remove the sdcard containing cfw
- bootup to Stock FW

Again:
How should they detect that you've used an cfw before?

Never use Atmosphere or any other cfw online

I see, so CFW would boot when you press certain buttons while turning on the console or something like that, right? I suppose that bridging pins to access RCM (safe mode) won't be necessary.
