I'm trying to make some userlays ready.
My discoveries until now :

Like m4xw said, it have to be 1280 x 720 pixels and PNG.

For example with these lines :

custom_viewport_width = "585"
custom_viewport_height = "445"
custom_viewport_x = "345"
custom_viewport_y = "116"

Values of aspect_ratio_index:

0: 4:3
1: 16:9
2: 16:10
3: 16:15
4: 1:1
5: 2:1
6: 3:2
7: 3:4
8: 4:1
9: 4:4
10: 5:4
11: 6:5
12: 7:9
13: 8:3
14: 8:7
15: 19:12
16: 19:14
17: 30:17
18: 32:9
19: config (video_aspect_ratio setting)
20: 10:9 (1:1 PAR)
21: Core Provided
22: Custom

Because I am a lazy fuck
It's still pretty easy to add though.

Also, BTW, today I had a dream where mupen64plus was actually ported to the Switch, although there was a green video filter and the 3D graphics were pixelated (like on Yabause). It also ran a little bit slow IIRC.

I actually gave it a try 2 days ago just to look how much of a pain it will be. It will be major work, but that was expected.

So better dream about reARMed now, maybe I will look at that then? :D

Must be the salamander branch there.
So this is definitely going to get closer to being the Horizon version of Lakka, eh??
No, not really.

I just get cancer from the green UI.

Salamander is mostly done, but I still need to work on some stuff. Swapping cores etc works just fine now :)

So maybe I can enable the updater! Btw Favorites work too!

Ok, I did a complete remoal of the "retroarch" folder on my sdcard. I ran MAME2003 fresh, and I noticed now that there are newly created directories. So I rebooted, and I forced the Aspect Ratio to 4:3, and I got a game to launch, thank you for that tidbit.

BTW, these newly updated emus are FANTASTIC! I haven't tried them docked, but FCEU, SNES, VBA, STELLA, GENESIS, just wow!!!

Genesis?? Is the sound working without crackling for you?

Salamander Core Bundles (until CI Integration is done): https://m4xw.net/nextcloud/index.php/s/bgsNayGYBoD864b

SET YOUR CORE DIRECOTRY IN THE SETTINGS TO /retroarch/cores/switch
Haven't updated yet at all. None of my builds use full-screen, BTW.
What other direcotries do I need to change? (I misspelled that on purpose)
Should I move my BIOS files to /retroarch/system?
Again, does the Salamander branch support threading?

Sorry, couldn't keep track.
Just like I haven't been keeping track with latest Switch releases (except Mario Tennis Aces, of course) since I'm still on 4.1.0.
What about the rest of my questions on that same post?

Wow this is awesome!, everything I tried works great! So much easier with one app, super smooth and looks mint! sound is slightly clicky, but great work all the same.

Thanks!!!

Hi, I haven't really followed this thread since it had 15 pages but after this new salamander build I have a question. Is there a way to scale the game without breaking aspect ratio? For example if I play using the VBA-Next core it's a small portion of the center of the screen. Can I scale this to fill towards the top and bottom without stretching along the X axis? Thanks!

I've done everything I can think of, but I'll be damned if I can make Genesis Plus GX work. I always get the error 0xfffffff2. Picodrive doesn't seem to be able to load ROMs. And I know this isn't the thread for it, but I cannot make pFBA see my ROMs so I've given up on it. Its like my Switch doesn't want to play Genesis games at all.

What am I doing wrong?

Hey@m4xw
out of interest what base version of horizon are you developing on?
ergo 1.0.0, 2.0.0, 3.0.0, 4.1.0 5.0.0
just a have a compatibility issues on 3.0.0
ie after loading a working .cue through the core on ps1 a white screen appears
its not a crash as i can escape back to home launcher and relaunch, this occurs on all builds but isnt present through hekate 2.3 (now not working)
any help or suggestion would great
