Dear community,

Great news to hear the scene is progressing.

Just wanted to ask a few questions before I buy the Xecuter SX Pro Dongle.

If I choose to stay offline at all times and avoid eshop and unlink my nintendo account completely while in the SX OS playing backups, is there a risk I can still get banned??

No one knows, data might be collected while on sx os and sent to Nintendo the moment you connect to a network, flag your system and then get banned but there's just no way to be sure.

Next time, use the correct forum, even if this is your first post.

Also, its possible there is still a risk. But as said above, nobody knows.

So i guess its safe to wait a few weeks and see where this goes.

Also, i saw there is a free version to SX OS or and Pro version dongle, could you break down the differences?

I was reading if your device loses battery or gets turned off you need to load up the custom firmware again. I am guessing the pro dongle helps you solve it quicker while your away from home.

Well, we will never know if this is 100% safe, it all depends on Nintendo, we can't confirm anything about an OS we know little about and don't have access to it's source code, if you do any modifications to your switch you'll have to assume the risk of ban.

If you're scared to get banned, then a cfw is not for you. Nintendo will surely ban by waves, and nobody will be 100% sure how to avoid them.

At this early stage of backup loading, nobody knows what will or will not result in a ban. While hackers have reasonably comprehensive access to files on the Switch, only Nintendo knows what checks are being done on the server end to prevent piracy. All we know right now is that many people who are using SX OS have been banned. We can try to put together data from what they say they've done and extrapolate from there to guess at what caused their ban, but ultimately it's just that: a guess. And until we have more data, even that is unreliable. Furthermore, Nintendo could have other checks being done that haven't resulted in any bans at all yet, but are simply populating lists of people to be banned later without warning.

TL;DR version: the only way you can be safe is to assume that if you use SX, homebrew, RCM, or any other non-standard functionality on your Switch console, it will be banned.

I am not scared of my nintendo account being banned, it is a new account and I haven't paid for anything. But obviously I would be scared of my console being blocked permanently even if I decide to factory reset and use the official firmware.

Don't use SX OS (or any CFW) at all if you don't want to get banned.

Anyone who uses modified software on their switch is opening themselves up to be banned.

It's a console ban, not an account ban. Be careful.

I see multiple people stating this is the wrong section to post this type of question but we kinda don't have a ban subforum. Since his question relates to the modchip, I see it fits. Anyways, people have been banned with SX OS offline but not SX Pro offline (yet) so we'll see.
