Nintendo has pushed out a new firmware update for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, 11.9.0-42. It's currently not known exactly what this update brings to the table, but as always, you might want to wait to see what scene developers say before updating your 3DS, if you want to keep using homebrew. The last update, 11.8.0.41, was released in July 2018, and managed to break multiple homebrew applications upon its initial release, so it's recommended to stay on your current firmware for the time being. As always, the patch notes are for the sake of stability.

I thought i needed homebrew to Use FBI.
I couldn't Find any DM stuff in Here so.. i have my new 3ds, its SD Card + Adapter and a Laptop. Where so i start?

When downloading steel diver don't download the update for it or it won't work

I like to imagine that most of the stability updates (that aren’t genuine bug fixes like that FMV stuttering issue from a while back or security hole patches) are likely just used to update the licensing for any third party software used by Nintendo in the 3DS’s OS, that or they’re tied to dev kit firmware updates, meaning that it doesn’t really affect the end user but they’re released nevertheless to ensure that consumer hardware is able to play newer games (or updated earlier ones) that were likely compiled in the newest dev update

I skimmed through to try and find the useful information over the jokes. Just to confirm, everything with Luma and NTR CFW seems to work fine, correct? That means the only thing I need to know is if this blocks R4 carts for DS play. Anybody confirm that yet? I don't really want to update until I know that, as it kills half of my playables in one swoop.

Flash cart blocks have been circumvented by Luma for some time now.

Nintendo has stopped blocking DS flashcarts at the EOL of the DS and don't care anymore Nintendo will never update the block like ever

No need for freeshop, just play roms in .CIA.

Freeshop is dead and 3ds games install as .cia files
