That's pretty cool, but the New 3DS browser wasn't able to play youtube videos anymore?

I think it would make more sense to do this homebrew for old-3ds since since the official youtube app for the console was closed it was no longer possible to watch youtube in any way on the console.

It works for both, O3DS and N3DS. It is better to have a dedicated app compared to the Internet browser.

Hello, is there no way for 2ds?

It is compatible with O3DS so 2DS is supported.

Maybe, but that is illegal in the USA I think. Now if there was a way to make a site like Odysee with downloading videos work, that might be possible. Otherwise, it is not likely do be able to legally do that
Actually, downloading YouTube videos isn't illegal here in the US as far as I know. In fact, if that were the case, then there would be A LOT less downloader sites than there are now.

Ah ok. I could have sworn it was illegal especially since Y2Mate went down along with a few others before.

I tested it on Old 3DS and it actually worked, I'm really glad you took the effort to add support for Old-3DS, many here don't.

My Smartphone broke recently and I don't have the money to fix it for now so I'm not ironically using this homebrew to watch some youtube videos before bed, thank you very much.

It was just because YouTube forced someone to remove their downloader code from github, so out of fear some sites when down. Still, I'm pretty sure it was only so that sheeple would get more youtube premium.

Hello! I would like to know 2 things about this app (which i'm using from it's release, BTW).
First, there are a lot of music videos that just play at 1.5 or 2.0 speed, and that's really weird. not touching the equalizer....
Second, if i want to port things like Crunchyroll (etc.) to this app, will this be an option?
Thanks!

not sure if it will help (never heard of this app), but something was updated 2 days ago, so I just compiled it:

How do I log in to my YouTube account?
You just don't. ThirdTube currently doesn't support, and has no need for, signing in. So, currently, it'll just appear as more or less anonymous to YouTube. Do with that what you will, albeit they still see your IP address since that's just how the web works.

The easy way is to use YouTube-DL to download videos on your PC, then transfer them to your SD card to watch with the 3DS video player. If you want to watch sites other than YouTube directly on the 3DS, you'll have to write your own homebrew program that uses YouTube-DL.
