Block system update via redirect DNS
This tutorial is for those who don't want to update their system, but don't want to completely block Nintendo's net connection.
Atmosphere only, but you can also do it in your router's settings.
how to do:
1. If your NS has already downloaded the update package, you need to remove it. I recommend use goldleaf to do this: Goldleaf→console and goldleaf settings→firmware and updates→delete pending
2. Add the following to atmosphere/hosts/sysmmc.txt, if this file doesn't exist, create it. (If you want to implement it in emunand, add the following to emummc.txt instead of sysmmc.txt)
Code:
#system update
127.0.0.1 sun.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net*system_update_meta*
4. Go to settings and try to update the system, if the dns setting is in effect, you will get a network error message.
This dns setting will only block the connection of the system update (If I'm not mistaken), you won't get annoying update alerts anymore, but you can still download games or play online normally.
If you want to disable it, just delete it or put a ; in front of 127.0.0.1.
This method may not work if you have enabled the proxy in NS's Internet settings.
