I see indie world, I see Silksong.

- Most Hollow Knight fans on the internet

with that aside, can't wait to see more pastel, earthbound-inspired, architecture-like based indie games !
These days I think I prefer what the indie world has to offer over most new AAA releases (by third party devs anyway).

Lol. Highly doubtful that they will release another console anytime soon.
I still believe they gonna announce the next console somewhere between October to November, in December they gonna announce a price cut in all Switch models, so in the first quarters of 2025 they will release the new console

Is this a prediction or a false rumor?

I'm at that age where I feel like it's too soon for another Nintendo console, and also refuse to accept that the GameCube didn't come out ten years ago.

I don't want a Switch 2. I want a Nintendo console where their flagship titles don't lag to all hell. I put up with it in breath of the wild but only put in about 2 hours on TOTK. Sure, some new fun mechanics, but that FRAMERATE OH MY GOOOOOOOD. What does Mario Kart 8 Deluxe do besides not have grass that Zelda doesn't?!

What does MK8D do, that BotW/TotK don't, you ask...?
I dunno, be fun? Not frustrate the player with a massive and unnecessary change in genre and gameplay from previous games in the series?

Also, NPCs in MK8D can be lower-poly than those in open-world-bullshit-games, as the player's just going to rocket past them; they aren't going to pay much attention to characters on the sides of the tracks. Also fewer characters to render in general. Less geometry too; sure, some tracks are large, but they're not only smaller than bloody useless open-worlds that take forever to traverse, but also likely loaded in chunks as the player passes checkpoints, which also aids with performance.

i think i might actually try not skipping this one, also shitty underpowered handheld wannabe console will only get 20-25 fps running on all the games it gets, so i am ready to be disappointed.

I mean, MK8 is a racing game and Zelda is an open world. That's already a pretty big difference

I do hope the Switch 2 at least allows for some performance mode or something. I've played Darksiders 1 on the Switch with that and it was great honestly. Sure, a bit uglier than the normal mode, but it felt wrong playing it at 30 fps and I was surprised they were able to have a performance mode on Switch. Usually it's just 30 fps and shut up

If the rumors are true and they really shown BoTW running at 60 fps, I hope that it means that they would stick to that and have games running at 60 rather than turning some effects that we will barely notice and drop the game at 30

Or just generalize having the choice. I hope that with DLSS it'll make things even better too. I have pretty high hopes for the Switch 2 given the software improvements the industry has made the last few years.
