Need more info.

-What programs are running (if any) while you are playing these games?
-Does your computer meet or exceed the minimum requirements for these games?
-Are you playing the retail or pirated versions?
-If retail, does your disc suddenly stop spinning?
-What OS? (i.e. XP, Vista, Win7, etc.)

@m3rox: You CAN edit in here. Just double-click your post or click the pencil icon.

As for the problem: Get your games from better, more complete sources.
And get better, more cost-effective hardware.

There is NEVER an excuse for getting an i5, and the only 5670 you should be getting is an IceQ. And yours better be overclocked.

Have you used a Nvidia card in it?
Or installed the drivers?

How old is the GPU (old enough for dust to settle in it)?

What are your temperatures? (GPUz-z and CPU-z, I need as many temperature settings as you can give me)

(I might forget to look here in a month, so PM me aswell if you have the info)

a server crashing leads to a game ending to the main menu (have seen it a lot of times on a certain game)

Personaly I think it's a overheated GPU, possible due to insufficient airflow in the case

I had an Nvidia 6200 once years back that randomly froze for like 5 to 30 seconds, and resumed, sometimes with broken shaders. happened alot for me in Oblivion back then. i fixed my issue by running Oblivion in Windowed Mode. Turned out i was just screwed by a poorly made graphics card. alt-tabbing seemed to help speed up the freezing process a bit, but sometimes it even blue-screened and rebooted. Does this sound like your issue? Also, make sure you have the latest drivers for your hardware. ALSO make sure you have enough power from your PSU. some higher-end graphics cards have little plugs on them to give them extra power.

Also, Alex_0706, your avatar is taking me back, and if i recall correctly, that episode is very depressing lol.

@Bunie,

I don't think it's the power (it's a low profile htcp card, wich often don't use too much power)

@ goldsteel

How long does it take for the freezing to occure?
I once had a ATI Radeon 9600 PRO, and it would crash if I would play a 3D game.
After a lot of troubleshooting I found out that it was dust in the fan, it completely jammed the fan, causing the GPU to overheat and shut itself down.

@DCG

the freeze just randonly happen, sometime it happen 10-20 minute when playing game, sometime after 2 hours. I susspect the freeze was caused by my harddisk - i use the whole disk as C:/ which i think making it read slow?

The harddisk is okay, the speed of a hd is only important when you load a game or a level (sandbox games excluded)

Can you log the temps?
And maybe you can carefully look if all the cables are connected properly (only if you know what you are doing)

It could also be a bad ram stick, you'l need to run memtest aswell

Ps. Sorry for possible bad grammer, I am typing from my phone

I think you'll need to contact the suplier of your pc parts, caus there is something wrong with your pc.
It should work fine, maybe you can run Linx or intelburnin.
You'll need to stay with your pc caus it can get realy hot (settings: all memory and 20 runs)
