    Nah, im pretty sure it has to be enabled on a software level. Them being I2C1 just means they can't both be configured to it at the same time with different signals. Might not be too hard to modify on an asm level..

    You can use the headphone jack while docked, although you would need an external speaker and an aux cord sadly. afaik, there's no way to use the internal ones docked, atleast without modding.

    To be completely honest, your best bet for something like mario kart 8 on 3ds would be to mod mario kart 7 with new tracks and characters. While it will still require a lot of work and possibly code changes, it's probably not the best thing for one person to tackle alone.

    Generally, if a console plays a game natively, then it is native, otherwise it is emulation (like PC playing 3DS). Whether it is a legit copy or a backup shouldn't make a difference.
