Action RPG 'Dragon Ball Game - Project Z' gets its first trailer

dbz rpg.png
As teased earlier, Bandai Namco unveiled the first trailer of its new Dragon Ball Z game during the Red Bull Final Summoning Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament. Titled Dragon Ball Game - Project Z, the game's trailer does not show much in terms of gameplay but shows, in what looks like the game's graphics, iconic scenes from the Saiyan and Frieza Arc. This new game will be an action RPG which will seemingly center around Goku & co. during their adventures throughout the Dragon Ball Z series.

CyberConnect2, which worked on the Naruto Shippuden series, is handling the development of Project Z and the game is expected to launch sometime in 2019 for PC, Xbox and PS4.

Kinda dissapointed that we have to play through the entire story again wich we have done a million times already. Was hoping for an entire new story but yeah what do you expect if they're already releasing it this year.

Looks like a remake of Legacy of Goku

Last couple Dragon Ball Z games have had brand new stories

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I only see Freeza saga.if so, boring!

Legacy of Goku only went to Frieza saga

They nailed the dragon ball look for sure, which is nice. Kinda sad we didnt see any gameplay though.

I think there is some small gameplay footage at the end, hinting at a potential open-world. But I know what you mean, no battle gameplay or showing of the RPG-like elements, which is what these games are really about.

I just really want to know how the gameplay is. Being open world is not really that special these days. If the battle system is boring then I dont see a reason to play it, even as a huge DB fan. It wont have anything special in the story since it'll probably just another telling of the Z story that we see in every game

Glad I have an Xbone , best combo with Switch, now I know PS has better exclusives but I can't stand their controller God knows Ive tried..

on topic, this is the dragon ball I've always wanted, loved the legacy of goku games, hopefully a "watered down" version will be adapted for switch, I think it's proven to drive good sales (far as I know DBFZ sold decent enough didn't it?)

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
