The best game's are from Indie Devs (not many 3D platformers though). Most "First party" games were Anime based crap.
I've once thought that Gravity Rush would be a great game, but then the in game camera made me think twice.
Now that SM64 was ported to the Vita, I'd say it's the best one on the console. <-Period

Don't forget all the great PS1 games (series or singles) : Crash Bandicoot, Gex the Gecko, Spyro, Croc, and a lot more
Still on the nostalgia trip : Medievil 1 and 2 on the PSX, and I have just remembered "40 winks" PSX as well, worth checking out!
There's also a number of 3D platformers on the PSP, like Death Jr 1 and 2 but I'm just scratching the surface here

...He was a bit taken aback by the 60GB download size. Poor guy's still living in the 90s! -

@K3Nv2 He was looking into consoles for his house anyway (for my younger siblings and himself) and I had a spare XSX and Switch I ended up selling him at pretty steep cuts. I would just give them to him, but I did buy them with the intent to sell them... and college is super expensive.
