I don't understand why I need to pay a premium on my phone plan to connect my laptop on the go. I've seen a lot of what I (presumably) assume are scams (foxfi being the predominant one). Is there actually a way to tether for free?

Back when I tethered my phone a few years ago without having it on my plan this worked great.

Though not sure why you'd call Foxfi a scam, it also should work as intended, along with something like PDANet as well, depending on how your carrier tracks mobile hotspot.

I've tried foxfi on multiple different phones throughout the year and it never worked. Maybe it is legit and I'm just dumb. Thanks for the link!
