Read title. I'm trying to get midi files from these Super Mario Galaxy 2 szs files and every program I've found is either too complicated for me or they only do one at a time (which is annoying since there's like 131 of them). Can anyone help?
Hardware Are there any good programs that I could use to decompress multiple .szs files at once?

Nice command line tools there.
If it does not want to play with a wildcard and you don't fancy some kind of big boy script go back to basics
Do a dir /b >> a.txt in the command line when in the folder of files.
It will make a file called a.txt with a list of all the files in the folder (and probably also a.txt if you care), one file per line.
Take this info and build out a spreadsheet with the fill command so each of those file gets treated.
Make the results a text file and save with the extension .bat in the directory.
In the command line with wszst in the directory type [whateveryounamedthetextfile].bat
It will then run the batch file and do it all.
Nothing here particularly complicated. Just a bit tedious.

Since when did 7-Zip support SZS format? (or any other game-specific formats, for that matter)

It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem. -

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.

But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".

Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
