Having trouble getting into RCM? Are you sick of having to find a jig, screwdriver og paperclip every time you want to use Hekate or other RCM payloads?

Well @rajkosto has given us a solution!

briccmii is a RCM payload that will soft brick your Switch so that you will always enter RCM mode.

From readme:

Corrupts (or fixes) the first byte of every BCT's pubkey in BOOT0 so your Nintendo Switch always enters RCM mode (or boots normally)

This is the same thing Team Xecuter's SX producs advertise as autorcm. This is however completely free ;)

WARNING: When active you will be unable to boot into Horizon, it will only be possible to boot the Switch through RCM payloads. Thus this should only be used by advanced users. Hekate and related payloads are not yet in a user friendly condition (sleep mode not working, games not loading etc.) so it is advised to not use this until Atmosphere is released.

Doesnt this mean we can just make a dongle like tx to push hekate on 5.0.x and have autorcm essentially giving us hekate or atmopshere cfw on coldboot with a dongle just like xecuter but free? So basically everyone gets free coldboot hax now XD

Once someone adds backup launching to Atmosphere, that'll put a real dent in TX's plans.

Yes. Or a DIY internal modchip even. Only roadblock is waiting for Atmosphere and a "backup loader".

And seconds before, people were telling people that tx auto rcm was the devil and all, its so funny seeing the people of gbatemp acting as buffoons, the backup loader is what most really want, atmosphere and the devs probably wont be making one because their interest is to preserve the console's life, not like that greedy evil tx that only want piracy(which most of us want), we will get a lot of emulators and stuff on atmosphere but auto rcm is not a thing that the atmosphere team wasnt able to accomplish, they just opt for a different way

auto rcm is not a thing that the atmosphere team could do before

i had "AutoRCM" on my switch (manually changed bytes in boot0 via u-boot ums) since a week ago, which was before TX put up the FAQ mentioning it, as i was tired of holding VOLUP each time i wanted to test my payloads
it just wasnt thought of anything worth mentioning since it was disclosed since day 1 of the bootrom exploit, and wasn't particularly hard to do.

I edit my comment just a second ago, that they could do it before but they change their way, it was a mispelled sentence :P

RIP TX'S INCOME
Already bought it ;) No dents here. I'll have the best of both worlds with TX and atmosphere.
tx isnt charging for autorcm
theyre charging for the cfw

until someone comes out with a cfw with backup loader

tx all the way
Agreed. I'll then just use the dongle for something else if possible. Lmao
