I don't agree. I liked Marvel vs. Capcom a LOT more than the sequel.
I also think Tekken should be way over any Mortal Kombat game.
About Killer Instinct... I don't know, never played it.

Yeah, the lack of a single SNK game is utterly mind blowing - no King of Fighters '98? Samurai Shodown II? Real Bout Fatal Fury 2? Garou: Mark of the Wolves? Did they just play Art of Fighting and KOF '95 for this or something?

Even more weird to me is how Killer Instinct is so high up. I can understand the nostalgia value, but better than Tekken 3 and Guilty Gear...?

Not a single SNK game in there, tisk tisk.

Tekken feels like nothing but a brainless button masher to me.
Though I always thought the techno music and the fighting kangaroo was cool.
Though they all felt the same to me.

Guess Im just a Street Fighter, Fatal Fury guy.

Also the only cool things about mortal kombat and Killer instinct were the fatalities and the like.
Gameplay felt shallow to me.
Killer Instinct Gold had a better system though.

Atleast they got Street Fighter 3 right... way right.

Street Fighter Alpha three is still my ultimate favorite though.

Still, an SNK game would have been better there than Mortal Kombat and its clone...
Well, in the place of one of the two atleast. They both were enjoyable at the time it made us oo at the crappy pointless bloody animations that only lasted a few seconds anyway.

Tekken 2 or 3 rates as MY favorite fighting games of all time. I love those games.

My friend and I spent a whole summer playing Tekken. We didn't study moves, we figured them out as we played. That was truly some good times.

I consider Tekken the ULTIMATE fighting game in all the history of fighting games.

The only thing that could possibly top Tekken (IMO) would be a game that was an adventure game which had Tekken-like fighting as a battle component.....you know, not just "fight the next guy" all the time.....it would have some RPG-type elements to it too....with upgrades and stuff. Now THAT would ROCK!

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is my favourite fighting game. Haven't played anything that topped it yet. The fighting mechanics are top notch.

I was always a huge fan of Killer Instinct, and Mortal Kombat Gold. Plus pretty much all the SNES-era MKs and Street Fighters.

It must be the fanboyism in me talking but i loved the budokai games.
Tenkaichi series were great to me too.
Otherwise, good list.
