Hay all,

So I recently got myself a New 2DS XL. I've used Thenaya before on my old New 3DS XL and it worked flawlessly.

On my 2DS XL I seem to be able to write to nfc tags fine however when I use the Dump function in Thenaya to see whats on the tag I get the following error

========================
Scanning Failed
Reading tagnfcsendTagCommand() Failed : 0
xd0a17490
Scanning Failed
========================

Any help with getting this working?

i was having the same issue, actually just figured it out. I was using a mac to write the files to my SD card and so it was writing the file plus another one with the same name but starting with a period. the program worked for me as long as i selected the actual file and not the one starting with a period.

I've posted this before a while back but still facing the same issue.

When writing a tag it works fine but when reading a tag I get the following

========================
Scanning Failed
Reading tagnfcsendTagCommand() Failed : 0
xd0a17490
Scanning Failed
========================

This is on a 2DS XL (Pikachu model)
Im running Luma 10.1.3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tag reading and writing worked perfectly for an Animal Crossing villager, however when I try to read it in-game it says "that's not an amiibo". Doesn't work for ACNL either. I'm using NTAG216 though; is that why? And any way to fix? o3DSXL, Rosalina v2.1.1, Thanaya v0.7

Yes you need to use NTAG215

Im unable to see a fix for the issue im facing, has anyone else got this on a 2DS XL?.

I've used Thenaya - I wish they would skin is properly. The project is most likely dead.

Someone else already mentioned this a while back, but I have a N2DS XL and followed all the steps correctly, however whenever I launch the app from the Homebrew Launcher, I get a red screen freeze. Kind of disappointed... I'm running the latest firmware and thought this would work.

So... I was wondering how to get the “amiibo_keys.bin” file. I’ve searched all over the internet and only have found Tagmo key files. Help?
Thats copyright material which cannot be linked to or distributed here. Be it the forum or pms. Just keep using GOOGLE or find some other option.

trying to load a skylanders bin file into thenaya and I get the error "file too large: 0x0000040. failed to read key file: -2" what can I do about this? I have done amiibo before and have the amiibo_keys bin file, do I need something like that for skylanders?

Quick question, trying to write the new zelda & loftwing amiibo to a tag resulted in a failure (truth be told, Thenaya itself doesn't appear to recognize which amiibo it is). Does anyone know whether this is on the program side, or due to a bad dump?

    @SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

    anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

    if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    @BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
    You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
    still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
    i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
    It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
