Hacking bought used and jailbroken 3.55 to 4.21 hydrid ps3. How to restore?

Yes it should be on 3.55 but it doesn't matter if there's a spoof. Unless it is on 4.21 CFW. You can try installing kmeaw first if you want, just to make sure you're on 3.55. If it doesn't install, this means you're on 4.21 CFW.

hmm..its not taking the 3.55 kmeau CFW pup, saying that I don't need to update. And the recovery menu doesn't even detect it.

Will "restore file system" in the recovery menu take me to 4.21 (which I don't want) or 3.55?

Before you install the 999 downgrader, try installing Rebug 3.55.4 (try from Recovery if it doesn't work from XMB)

got the PS3Break 1.1 dongle today from Devin

wondering though how to update it or get the PS3 into factory service mode?..i push the on button and the eject button after the other with the dongle in the right port but it
wont go to factory service mode. the PS3break dongle turns green during startup like its trying to do something..but it just goes to the REBUG XMB..

PS3break.com seems to be down...perhaps I need something from there?. I KNOW i need something from this website

The PS3break dongle is HID and has a pink inside case that came with it and I don't think it's programmed yet and that could is be my problem

EDIT: found PS3Break Loader v1.1.exe standalone file from 4shared (not sure if I need any other files) and it detects my dongle but It seems I still need a mHEx file?


EDIT 2: everywhere I go the links lead to the dead gogodowloads and the ps3break website. No one has mirrored this?

Moar edits: FOUND a .MHEX file..but I have two of them!

one says PS3Break PSGrade.mhex and the other is PS3Break Firmware 1.7.mhex ( i dont think I need to deal with PsGrade?)
