Hi everybody,
I'm pretty new with Wii, I've read a lot but I haven't found anything to answer this silly question: I want to play MP3s from my computer to the Wii, streaming with a web-based software that runs locally on my home Pc (the sw is WiiCR). The main problem is that I'm having an Access Point connected to my Pc via Ethernet cable, but since I'm digital-divided (yes, Italy doesn't grants even DSL links...

) I have no internet, so the Wii confirms the connection to the AP but fails generically "Internet connection" and kicks me out.
Do you know any "dirty trick" to bypass the internet check? Isn't it just a kind of ping on some address? If I put the address that it uses to check on the Windows host file, it would be ok...
Thanks in advance!

Ok, done with this
smile.gif
just simply:
a) sniffed with Ethereal (http://www.ethereal.com/) the packets coming from my Wii after AP Association. The first were DNS query for conntest.nintendowifi.net so...
b) I put on a small DNS server on my pc to "simulate" that host (I used Treewalk, http://ntcanuck.com/) and then a small web server to give the "test page" to the Wii (with XAMPP, http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html). The connection test was ok, but then the "update check" started, so...
c) decided to give up with this madness %)

Get you raspberry pi5, and you can play gamecube, wii, and ps2 games also. Those won't
  • T @ Texasauras:
did you see them on google? preloaded rom consoles
  • T @ Texasauras:
where is that which one is that
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Those preloaded ones are junk. You can Google raspberry Pi and find where they are sold near you, or on amazon.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, i don't think my parents will get me a pi
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You can get older ones even like the pi 3,4 for cheap, but they don't play gamecube, Wii etc very well. Be warned they use a Linux os, which you need to load onto a micro SD card yourself. You can find pre built images like "retro-pie" online free tho which makes it easy to setup.
